Mara that what I'm thinking but was going to freeze it in block of ice (tip from another DFW) in case they offer a 0% transfer once it's paid off ( they usually do) as our cards are all on high aprs so would be great to be able to start moving some to a lower interest rate .......

Update on things not to do !!!!

Success on the takeaway front cooked lovely BBQ for dinner last night

Success (so far on the new dress) sitting in garden topping up the tan and could not be bothered to go to the shops even if Martin :money: offered to buy a dress for me himself:rotfl:

Think that perhaps a continued heat wave is the solution to busting this debt :D

Enjoy a good sunny weekend everyone - if you have a garden lock yourself in it and you'll not spend a penny - well it's working so far for me:D

Hip hip hooray it's payday!!!!!! So managed to make an overpayment of £350 :Tjust hope that I have done my sums right and it doesn't leave me with no money by next week!!!
Have had to change my "who to pay first plan" as my dad has been taken into hospital ill and live in the states sO there is a chance I may have to fly out there soon so I'm trying to clear enough head room on a cc in case that needs to happen - means that temporarily I will be adding too my debt but he is on his own out there and I just don't have a spare £1200 lying around. Although to be honest I havent checked down the back of the couch so who knows:rotfl:

So dad on the mend and home from hospital today so a potentially very expensive unbudgeted trip probably avoided now.

Felt as if I'm not achieving much in terms of debt busting - payday and overpayments have been and gone .....

But today the car tax renewal came in and for once I didn't groan at the sight of the envelope as I have been tucking away £35 a month to cover car expenses so I can avoid the usual chuck it on the plastic mentality - and there is more than enough in the account to cover it :T
Then DS 1 handed me his birthday list and for once this will be funded from a wee online savings account I started for the month of September - hideous month for us ds1 and Dh birthday and dads birthday and a couple of other family birthday also wedding anniversary - we long stopped anniversary pressies but like to head out for a wee meal and drinks - so since April I started putting away money as yip you guessed this was normally funded by mr plastic not so fantastic

I realised then that I have actually made huge progress and have avoided putting the best part of £400 on the credit cards over the next few weeks and that its not just about the overpayments on payday but developing good habits all yr round and keeping the DF mindset everyday :)

Feeling a tad smug for someone who has over £30k of unsecured debt and not a lot to show for it :rotfl:

Well after all the patting myself on the back and smugness let myself down yesterday by ordering Chinese takeaway  -am not against takeaways when it's a planned treat but this was purely a " haven't thought about dinner its7pm and can't be bothered" so there went £15 that would have covered the lunch that I'm going out for on sat with some friends :(

I need to find a way of meal planning that works for me- the idea of knowing on a Monday what I'm going to eat on a Friday depresses me if I'm honest. I think I just need to plan in such a way that I alway have options and bulk cooked spag bols, chillies and curries etc in the freezer so I can still do a bit of "what do I fancy" with out reaching for the takeaway menu.

You are bound to have glitches along the way, it takes time to break habits, the debts didn't arrive over night and won't go overnight.
