Ugh...s'warm
anyway.
had a word with mum about criticising DD. Took DD up there in dress and sandals t'other day...'how pretty you look (fine) BUT (here we go) what about nail varnish on your toenails?
Mum just cannot see it. DD interprets all this as little digs and mum cannot see that they are unnecessary so have DD wondering why Grandma cannot just be nice; now my eldest niece is pierced (body) and mum moans about that - DD hasn't even got her ears pierced !!!!!! you cannot win. I can see more and more of her mother in my mother - and her mother was very very critical (we loved her and appreciated her but she was bl00dy hard work) and I realise I am not looking forward to the future in this respect. I'm already keeping things from her with regards to my 'relaxed' attitude re DS's GF being here.
Anyway - picked a whole punnet of strawberries (nyom) (might root runners and chuck out 'old' plants) and I have blackcurrants simmering for jam - batch 2. Bumper harvest!
Been there done that re mothers..... 'You look lovely dear, but you could do with losing a bit of weight' my mum to DD2 as she left after DD1's birthday celebrations about 3 years ago! I was so cross I had to tell my sister -who did talk to mum about it!!!!
A year later DD2's visits from Aunt flo finally settled down and became regular - and she lost 4 stone! She's now convinced her gran only likes her because she's now thin!
Personally I think it's a good thing she's moving to be near my sister...
Another baking day here. We ended up agreeing to go to the Yr 6 Leavers assembly today, so we have to rush...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

Struggling big time with a very tired DS3, hoping he is out the bath,.
Off to see leavers assembly again and then into town with friend for a coffee.
See you all lunchtime, somebody do some flying in my absence please. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Morning ladies. Very hot here.
DS2 breaks up today. Littlies still have Monday/Tuesday at school.
DD1 has a summer cold no doubt acquired on her flight home from Crete.
I haven't done the ironing. I've a busy weekend coming up. End of term drinks and snacks for DS3's school Mums at a friend's house tonight. Spa day from 8am tomorrow. Picnic on Sunday to say goodbye to a friend of DS3's who is moving away.
Good day wishes to all.0 -
More washing done here, and more playing. DD is not right
she has spent most of the morning laying on the sofa
DS is packed, kitchen tidied, stuff brought down that shouldn't be upstairs. Now sat with DD she's about to nod, but clinging onto my left arm. DS wanted dinner so he's hovering between LR and DR with carrot sticks and bits of pasta.
After school club sorted, he is booked in, they just hadn't replied yet. Can't get through to surgery it's been engaged all day...
I'll crack on again in 10 when DD is asleep!Bossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Grabbed some £8-£9 shoe bargains in the Clarks sale
and a pair for DS2 which were half price... let's just hope they fit! (12% quidco cashback for the next couple of days!)
bills paid
nails prettied (selfishly spent £5 on myself again!! lol)
prescription collected
post sorted
recycling out
Left ebay feedback
Words had with the inhabitant about exiting sooner rather than later.. 6 weeks early is fine by me! lol My feet are huge.. I also took off my shoes so I'm not doing the school run later because I'll not be able to get them back on!!!
I need to strip both cots AGAIN!!!!! I really need some decent nappies for these 2 this is ridiculous!!!!
OH outside laid frazzling on the grass.. DS1 asked him if he had changed race the other day lol. HAHA.. a soggy Dot just laid right up his back.. apparently the water is cold so he's not impressed..
Bossy... he curled his claws out because I was looking at him.. he has only scratched anyone 2 or 3 times in the 13 years we've had him.. he has been dressed in baby clothes, dragged all over, had fur chopped off him.. he didn't even make a whimper when the vet lanced a huge abcess on his back.. he has absolutely no brain cells at all!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Afternoon all
Not caught up on the thread, too tired. I've been MIA as I've spent the past 2 days working! I was cleaning the brass on my front door at 7am Wednesday morning waiting for my deliveryThen last night I made DD's bed up so that completed my list for this week
:j:j
I was delivering to customers until nearly 10pm last night which is unheard off! I usually stop at 9am, but I only had 2 left to go. Then I was up until 1am this morning trying to get my coolest clothes washed and hung to dry ready for wearing this morning and have a bath.
DD is back from her Disney Paris trip with school. They left there about 8pm last night their time, and were estimated to be back 8am this morning but were warned it could be as early as 6am...the pick up point was the supermarket by their school 2 miles away and I don't drive. So when I woke up at 4.30am due to the heat I decided to just get up and sorted :rotfl: I left the house at 5.50am after receiving a text to say they'd be back at 7.30am as the plan was a slow and cool wander there instead of getting the bus. Well the roads were almost silent, and I had my music on my headphones. Next thing I know its 6.30 and I'm standing outside the supermarket :rotfl::rotfl:Guess 40min estimate was right. :rotfl::rotfl: They arrived home dead on 7.30am and we were home again (got the bus this time) by 8am!
The battle of the laundry is already under way, 5 loads to do in total, number 2 is nearly done but hanging stuff out on the line is awful. I've got factor 30 suncream on and I'm still burning  As its so hot (and DD is fighting sleep, she needs to have a nap after just an hours sleep last night but she won't despite constantly dozing off :rotfl:) we're having a lazy day. Think I might just have another nap myself insteadCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
gosh it seems quiet here
up early due to heat; so stripped my bed; that was 2 loads on line, ironed yesterdays.
boiled up the blackcurrnats for jam then went into school for leavers assembly. Flew there - tidied in staff room, collected cups and washed, dried and put away.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0
