On local news yesterday, we now have 800 wind turbines blighting the countryside of the South West.
All being well they produce 2% of the electricity requirement.
Fields around the whole of the South West are being covered in solar panels, where are we going to get the food to feed the expanding population?
Bring on the nuclear.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Thanks - wow - someone else who has sense
Don't forget that long summer evenings and weekends - not to mention summer holidays - when the school is closed - ALL the money saved will reduce the reliance of the school on YOUR finances - taxes !!
You don't seem to realise that WE are all already paying to subsidise the FIT payments by increased energy bills, so how exactly does that "reduce the reliance of the school on YOUR finances - taxes"? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
The Severn barrier would operate twice daily. How we store any excess energy from it not clear at least to me.That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Stop raising pointless arguments - child !
You are fully aware that there are two reasons for what I am proposing - financial and green
At the moment - financial takes precedence over green
If more people did what I want to do - the cost per panel and hence the cost per W of generated electricity will drop
Now go away and pick on someone else to annoy......
as illustrated by your replies to me, it's obvious that you don't actually know all the facts around what you are planning on doing, and any argument I have raised is in response to your posts!!
if you can't justify the installation to a random person questioning it on an open forum, how do you expect to convince a school board that they should spend 50k on a half baked argument?!
apologies if realism annoys you
