  • Oh I forgot to say last night, that I made a list of my friends/family birthdays over the next 4 months (to start January) - I tend to sort birthdays in 4 month blocks so in December I sort out gifts and cards for January to April, in April I sort out May to August and in August I sort out September to December. Doesn't make a lot of sense really but I like to do it this way. I also keep a stock of small £5/£6 birthday gifts for appropriate aged boys/girls and the odd spare wedding/get well soon/congratulations/thank you card.

    So I have 13 birthdays over the next four months, some of which I already have cards/gifts for and some who just need cards no gifts etc. I'm left to buy:-

    3 kids birthday (all girls turning 7) £15
    5 adult birthdays requiring gifts £55
    6 adult birthday cards max. £10

    So I'll do some creative buying of these gifts and cards over the next few weeks, wrap gifts and write cards then I'm all set!

    Xxx
    MBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
    Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
    Bank of Scotland = £2,782.83
  • Hello Scottishspendaholic!

    How are you? Just catching up with diaries, I took a week off from debtbusting and MSE land, but am now back! How are things with you?

    Thats impressive that you managed to take £135 worth of goodies back to Next, I didn't realise you could do that?! Do you have to tell them at the counter that its been over the return period or do you usually just try and see? Thats brilliant either way, as it has taken your account under £1k - go you!! :beer:

    Fingers crossed that the website lady meeting goes well and you are able to take that over and get the extra pennies rolling in. It all helps, thats for sure.

    I like your idea of buying for birthdays etc a block at a time, thats something I might consider doing. I have been thinking about christmas quite a bit recently, and am thinking of doing a hamper each for my folks, my inlaws and my sister and just give them things they will use, instead of buying random things that will get chucked!

    Anyway, hope you are fine and hope to chat soon!

  • Hi Scottishspendaholic, hope you're doing okay! Haven't heard from you in a while so thought I would pop onto your diary and see how your doing.

    Have you been busy debt busting, or has life taken over?!

    Anyway, just wanted to say hi and I hope things are good with you.
