Ah yes, I remember your previous thread where you said something
about job centre staff getting acid thrown in their face and were surprised when they took it the wrong way. :rotfl:
You were given advice on how to avoid this situation in that tread but don't seem to want to learn from past experiences.
Oh well, there's no helping some people.
But just in case; you should spent a good proportion of the working day job searching, apply for anything and everything, even if you don't have the qualifications or experience. You will either not get an interview or fail at that stage, but it shows you are playing the game.
Play by the rules and there will be no excuse for then to 'pick on' you.0 -
I am on JSA. I apply for any job that fits into the hours I can manage arranged round childcare. (ie not evenings / weekends).
I realise that alot of them I am not qualified for and can't do but the way I see if if I don't apply I have not got no hope rather than a very slim chance I have at the moment. There are exceptions of course I don't think any jc would expect me to apply for a doctors vacancy or similar. But there are jobs that say they want experience in a certain field which I haven't but I apply anyway.
I don't understand why anyone wouldn't do this, yes it may be a waste of my time but as I don't work time is something I do have so I might as well do something constructive with that time.
OP you really need to be careful the more sanctions you get the longer they last and eventually they will stop paying you JSA.
I you don't want want to apply for the reasons above just apply because you have to and spend more time on the applications on the jobs you can do.0 -
OP - where do you live and what job/s are you looking for?
I find it hard to believe that anyone can not apply for 6 or so jobs a week which seems to be the standard norm on most peoples agreementWe’ve had to remove your signature. Top tip: Apply for any/all jobs, whether you can get them or not.... remember that people who REALLY want them, who are qualified, who have experience of them will outrank you and you won't even get an interview anyway.
Play the game, show you're leaping through the hoops
Even if you do get an interview for a job you can't do, you can easily fail at interview by answering questions honestly...... jobs go to people who big up their ability, employers don't want honest applicants these days who answer questions honestly.... you have to get a tick in their box on their form and honesty never gets that.0 -
they've been on and on to me about voluteer driving, taking people to hospital and doctors etc, but they wouldnt tell me anything.
for instance, you need a certain type of car insurance added to your normal insurance, like taxi drivers have, otherwise if your involved in an accident the person your taking to the hospital / doctors isnt insured.
or the fact its not your taking a person to hospital, dropping them off and going back when there appointment is finished, and whilst in that period your picking someone else up. if thats what you think your wrong. infact you have to park and go in with that person and sit there and wait with them. so no mention of parking fees you would have to pay out.
and how to reclaim.
Let me just help you out here, as I happen to be one of those 'volunteer drivers' you speak of:
1. You DO NOT require special insurance - you are paid EXPENSES at 45p a mile BY THE CLIENT which means that you are not making a profit out of the journey - unlike Hackney Carriage / Private Hire which is "Hire or Reward" - most decent VB's will give you a form to send to your insurance company which expalins what you are doing and I do not know of any insurance company that has increased premiums as a result.
2. You reclaim any other expenses (parking etc.) from the client. It is not your responsibility to foot the bill. The only things you don't reclaim from the client are your own personal subsistence expenses (food/drink/cigarettes/newspaper). As a registered volunteer driver, as long as you have your dash sign on show and you remain with your car, you can use ambulance parking bays and you are highly unlikely to be moved on by the wardens at most hospitals - they might ask you to move down a bay or two, but it is rare that they ask you to shift into one of the car-parks. Certain hospitals also allow to to park in the car-park at no charge if you are a volunteer driver on a run.
3. You DO NOT have to take them in and wait with them - you may get the odd client that ASKS but it is not a requirement of the role. Your role is to pick them up from point A, take them to point B and wait for them, returning them to point A. Your expenses are charged, and paid, from your home address.
I hope this clarifies matters for you.PLEASE NOTE:

OP, You refused to apply for jobs that you deem yourself not capable of not doing. How thin a list is what remains?
As mentioned, you are required to fulfill your search requirements as part of your JSA payments - even if you have to apply for jobs outside your comfort zone. You should have simply widened your search criteria, and applied for other jobs.
It appears you haven't learnt from your past sanctions. I won't even ask why the police had any involvement in any of this.
WRONG.
i dont apply for jobs for instance a HGV licence, why I have a normal driving licence. I have never taken a driving test in HGV / LGV and i have no tac reading.
I dont apply for jobs being a Manager why I've been unemployed a long time and my work experience is properly about 1month.
even though under new deal I was self employed as a market trader and it was my job to order stock, pay for it, price it, and then sell it and get the stall etc.
Reasons I dont apply for carer, I'm not that way inclined. Washing / cleaning someone, frankly thats a job for a women in the right mind set, but then again even my mother whos had 7 kids WOULDN'T do that job.
I've applied to be sales assistant in pretty much all the common big shops, asda, tesco's, lidl, aldi, iceland, morrisons, sainbury's, etc, and smaller ones, i've registered with numerous agency's and never heard any back.
There are also certain jobs you can't apply for unless you have the card building industry CSSC or something. which you have to pay for it costs £60 a year i believe, every year.
I personally believe the government is at fault in given the jobcentre who's job isn't to get people back into work as they would have you believe but to help people claim whatever benefits people are entitled to.
Put it this way, ask a jobcentre adviser what there job actually is and they we'll tell you its not their job to get you back into work, even though when you go to the jobcentre you'll hear them tell each other how they got this and that person back into work.
many a time i've heard them tell other people its 99.9% YOU that other 0.1% is us giving you information.
given you access to certain tests for free, which next time you'll have to pay for. etc.
Funny it used to be the jobcentre was there to get you the unemployed BACK INTO WORK, but you see thats why the government started paying others A4E etc to do it for them.
The government needs to rethink about given the jobcentre more authority, and about allowing them to sanction people, ITS NOT THE JOBCENTRES JOB TO SANCTION.
I love it when they say its not them sanctioning you but someone in a office where they send your jobsearch to that "they" belive isnt good enough and its that person you never see who decides.
They dont know you, they know nothing about you. And in this day and age NO ONE should be sanctioned.
Maybe the government should think about saving money, instead of given themselves £7000+ pay rises, <equal to 2 years of jsa for most people. if of course they get paid anything.
then of course you have all the immigrants coming into the country and immediately getting benefits, and taking low paid jobs, jobs which the british person can't take because being british they have the minimum payment which i believe is something like £5.50 a hour, whereas immigrants can be paid as little as £2 a hour.0 -

Read you reply..
well thats funny.
When The NEWS had an advert in their paper for volunteer driving I phoned up, and asked for more info, and the person i was speaking to was the person running it, and he did say That I would have to have insurance for the person i was driving.
No mention as to how I would be reimburst if i decided to do it.
You say remain with your car, I was told I would actually be with the sitting with the person I had taken to the appointment, not sitting in my car waiting for them to come back from the appointment.
your reply in 3. is what i expected but told completely the opposite.0 -

The purpose for starting this thread was not to get any useful advice or answer questions which might lead to sensible actions but is here so that Andy can whinge about things, proving how unsuitable they are for work and should just be financially supported in the life to which they have become accustomed.
Bye.0 -
Stop digging.
First post, okay, may have a point, JC advisers are looking for numbers.
But with each subsequent post more of the truth comes out and it is yourself who you are painting in a poor light, not those you are wheedling and whingeing against.0
