For some reason the jobcentre LOVE sanctioning me, They sanctioned me in from May 8 - 21, then they followed that up with another sanction from May 22 - 6 August, then 2 days ago i got a letter telling me that from 7 August my benefits would be what they where when i wasnt, so i was slightly happier, thinking well at least i'll get some money to pay my bills, only for today to receive another letter telling me , they are stopping my benefits again till 17 Sept.
Reasons they dont believe i'm looking for work, the fact that I only apply for jobs I CAN DO, not jobs I cant do, like some jobseekers. Whats the point of applying for jobs you cant do, the chances of getting them are SLIM to NONE, or 1 in a billion.
I personally believe i'm being targetted by the jobcentre, as i live at home with my mum who's a pensioner.
I do a jobsearch and when i find jobs to apply for I apply for them.
I do not apply for jobs I CAN NOT DO.
I also know of the internal letter thats been sent to jobcentre nationally, giving the jobcentre staff bonus's for sanctioning a certain amount of people per month.
I've had trouble with the jobcentre since August 2012, every month August, September, October, they has put sanctioned against me which I then had reconsidered and which got overturned. Then again in December, Janurary, Feb I got banned for something I said, which I didnt actually say, they basically changed a few words to what I actually said and removed a few others, lied to the police aswell in their reports, so for Feb 13 - May I was signing at a different job centre and didnt get any sanctioned, but since May since I've been signing back at this jobcentre they started again.
I contacted my local MP david Willets, his colleague contacted them and i was them told to deal with the jobcentre myself.
I want to know who do I contact about taking these people to court.
Cause I am coming to the end of my tether.

There really is one way to deal with a situation like this and it's not particularly ethical imo.
That is to ask for every single job THEY would want you to ask for and not just the ones you know you could/would actually do.
It's games-playing in effect. But that is exactly what I had to do myself many years ago when I myself was unemployed.
I asked for the jobs I knew I could/would actually do and I also asked for a lot of other jobs as well.
It's wrong wrong wrong...but that's how it was back then and it's even more the case nowadays.
It's not against you. It's just that The System requires them to "tick boxes" so give them what they need to "tick those boxes" and apply for a load of other jobs besides the ones you are actually "really" applying for.
Daft system, but you can't change it on your own and they will just keep hitting you round the head with sanctions if you don't enable them to "tick those boxes".
You really do have to apply for jobs:
- you are not capable of doing
- outside standard work hours
- too far from your home to be able to reasonably commute to
etc etc
Daft...daft...daft...but that's how it is.0 -

Im also of the same thinking that only applying for jobs I believe I can do is best as not much point wasting my time filling in a form that I wont have no hope in getting.0 -

I actually have a job at the moment.
I actually managed to do ok with only applying for jobs I knew I could do, not much point in applying for jobs requiring management experience is there.0 -
OP, You refused to apply for jobs that you deem yourself not capable of not doing. How thin a list is what remains?
As mentioned, you are required to fulfill your search requirements as part of your JSA payments - even if you have to apply for jobs outside your comfort zone. You should have simply widened your search criteria, and applied for other jobs.
It appears you haven't learnt from your past sanctions. I won't even ask why the police had any involvement in any of this.0 -
I go online every day, I look for as long as I can and then stop when I just cant look at any more pages of jobs because its become a blur.
Waiting for someone to say sign on with an agency, so I can respond with something like, Been there, once upon a time I was registered with 12. always told the same thing. They would contact me, no need to contact them. even had the jobcentre threaten to stop my benefits if i didnt sign up with the agency that was going to be in my local jobcentre for the next 3 days,. 300 other people also signed up with them. not 1 person ever heard anything back from them.
There theres the other way they deal with you, oh we've just had 24 people made redundant, come back in 2 weeks, so you do, then its oh we've just has 12 people made redudant come back in 2 weeks and then its back to the 24 again.
then theres others where you seen a job you like the sound off being advertised, get told to go down and fill out the forms to apply for the job, then when you turn round and say when will i find out if i got the job, and they tell you the job doesnt actual exist it was just their way of getting you to sign on with them.
The other ones where after 3 weeks of being told phone us on friday to see whats happening next week then then on friday being told to go in on monday, and then being asked have you registered with us, by the same person that took the form you filled out when you registered.
And dont get me started on these so called "Work programs" like A4E.
there about as helpful as a fox in a hen house.
they have a one tracked mind, and they dont think of the cost to YOU.
they've been on and on to me about voluteer driving, taking people to hospital and doctors etc, but they wouldnt tell me anything.
for instance, you need a certain type of car insurance added to your normal insurance, like taxi drivers have, otherwise if your involved in an accident the person your taking to the hospital / doctors isnt insured.
or the fact its not your taking a person to hospital, dropping them off and going back when there appointment is finished, and whilst in that period your picking someone else up. if thats what you think your wrong. infact you have to park and go in with that person and sit there and wait with them. so no mention of parking fees you would have to pay out.
and how to reclaim.0 -
Just apply for jobs to avoid the sanctions. On the slim chance you got an interview, you can tell the interviewer you don't have the relevant experience!0

If you want money from the public purse you have to abide by the rules. Simple as that really.
It's completely down to you that you are being sanctioned no one else.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I actually have a job at the moment.
I actually managed to do ok with only applying for jobs I knew I could do, not much point in applying for jobs requiring management experience is there.
So it worked for you, eventually.
My questions,
"So what will you do with your time to find the job?
How much of your time are you spending on jobsearch?"
could perhaps better have said "a JSA claimant", "they" and "their" rather than "you" and "your".
So, rephrasing:
How much time is a JSA claimant (Andy) spending on positive action to improve his chances of finding a job?
All we know at the moment is that he spends time looking for vacancies on the internet until he gives up. If the pages become a blur, he is looking for too long in one session and should take a short break from looking at the screen and re-start later.
There is no mention of doing anything other than a short session of looking online.0
