DAY 6 of juicing. I won't say juice fasting, as external logistics have dictated i had one main main meal yesterday and the day before. However, i had salmon and veg, which isn't exactly on the post fruit, veg, nuts and lentils regime, but never mind. Flexibility?

Back to the complete juice fast, which should be achievable for the next 7 days, (external logistics, should permit.)

However, i'm "sold" on juicing, and i'll never buy processed fruit juices, again.
Fred - Where's your get up and go?

Barney - It just got up and went.

  • This is day 20 of the juice fast for me. It does get a lot easier, the main drawback is not eating or drinking (alcohol) at the weekends. It really makes you realize how much of your social time involves food and drink! On the plus side though, I do feel a lot better. My skin seems better and I have lost 15 pounds.

It has definitely made me think about what kind of things I will be eating when I break the fast too and I am actually looking forward to nice things like cooked veg, fish and chicken. :j

Well done claire-bear, that sounds like a great achievement. Are you spending alot of money of fruits and veggies? What sort of juices are you having? How long do you think you will juice fast for?

Here's an article about how to break a juice fast.

Well done claire-bear80. Despite my resolve i'm finding it difficult.

    Thanks for the link Jox.

    DAY 10
of juicing. The good news is, i'm still juicing. The bad news, i'm having the occasional blip, which defeats the object of juicing? Still, at least i'm honest. On the plus side, i've lost 4 lbs and people say i look like i've lost weight. Strange with such a small weight loss? but it's dropped off my face, so it's more noticeable?

    Keep plugging away?

Keep juicing. I'll get there in the end. :)

Thanks for the link! I am having to have a Tesco delivery every 3 or 4 days, of around £45 ish. however, my husband is doing the fast too so that is for both of us (and dog food too). It would probably be cheaper to go to Aldi or somewhere but its not convenient for me

I am planning to go to 30 days (this is day 21). I have just looked though and that falls next Thursday, so I might take it up to the weekend, as I am not sure about trying eating again while at work in case of any side effects! Juice wise I am probably having too many fruit based ones as that's what I prefer, but I always add a couple of handfuls of spinach and have veggie ones for lunch and dinner.

I did make banana ice cream as a treat last night which isn't strictly juice but only one banana cant hurt!

Maybe a Juice fast for dogs? :rotfl:

So far i've spent £15, which averages £7 a week. Not too bad, but that's for one person.

Technically i'd say that's a blip, (or breaking the juice fast,) but never mind. Banana and ice cream not allowed, but it depends how stringent you are? :D You're still doing extremely well. :T

DAY 14 and i'm now solely drinking the mean green juice. It's taken me a while to get there, with minor blips along the way. I also find it's too much if a palava to juice the watermelon separately, ie, i don't have a dishwasheruppa, so it's easier to make one type of juice. I've also lost 6 lbs, but proportionately, i'm not expecting huge weight loss.

  • That's great, well done!

I've not been having actual ice cream! If you freeze a banana and blend with a little water it turns into ice cream :j no added nasties:D

I'm on Day 4 of a 5 day reboot juice plan. Yes like everything, in moderation and it will have a lot of haters. But it feels good and it's going to get me into juicing regularly with a balanced diet. It's not supposed to be full time or a diet.

It's also not easy at first. I caught a bug at the start and I've been struggling with cravings and a runny nose, bad coincidence! But I do feel clear today, not bloated, not missing caffeine even though I drank coffee regularly. Not really missing anything except for chicken. I agree the body needs the other nutrients and so I'm only doing 5 days to clear out the system and get me back on track.

I made a youtube playlist to motivate me and keep a record
  • Did you just stick to fruit juice or did you try vegetable juice aswell?
My husband and I have recently started making our own vegetable juices and they are soooo much better for you than fruit juice as they do not contain all the sugars and if you blend the juice instead of juice it then you still consume all the husks which are the most healthy part of the vegetable. We've been drinking these for the past few months and they give us so much energy it makes you want to keep active mentally and physically. One juice we really love is celery, lime juice and parsley but there are loads of variations and you can always add a little apple to sweeten it as they do take some getting used to in the early stages. we found a great website about these types of juices and there are bars starting to open up around London aswell.
    :T
I now have a juicer, so i shall be starting my juice fast this weekend. :D

Looking back, it's been 3 weeks since THAT programme and since i started this thread, and most of that time i've spent researching juicers and subsequently, trying to purchase one. It seemed a good idea at the time to buy the mean magic machine, due to the lack of availabilty of juicers, but never mind, i got there in the end. :)

I've no set target in terms of the length of time i'm going to juice fast. I'm going to take it one day at a time and see how it goes. I think it's sensible to see how my body copes?

I'll also reiterate, i'm not specifically doing this for dieting purposes. It's a pre detox to what i see as a healthier eating lifestyle, (of which i'm already a good way down the road,) and i'm interested to see what health benefits this may bring, if it really does make you feel more energised, etc. Primarily, it should remove all the toxins from my body.
  • So which juicer did you buy in the end ? I'm wondering whether to get a blender instead and everyone seems to be talking about vegetable juicing in London these days and that the husks are the best bit so not to juice out the goodness. Can you let me know which jucier you went for it might help me decide what to go for?
