When the day starts wrong it goes wrong specially with kids , I feel for you but at the same day it sounded so bad as to be hilarious . I would not have dreamt to leave arrangements for my daughters day till the lastinute , she absolutely hates it when something she did not plan and agreed for goes on and u understand , it must have felt as if being passed from pilar to post, they are smal and helpless , his frustration understandable. By the sound of it kids would be better not attending that school trip , what a shambles

My grandson likes his routine - he cannot cope with 'changes' and his mum was supposed to take him - but her manager changed the rota and she couldn't.

yes, perhaps in years to come I MAY look back and think its funny. but, not now. now I just want to cry. GS didn't have a lovely day - and I had a horrendous one.
It WAS a shambles - from beginning to end!

    Hugs

    What a horrid day!

Sounds like the teachers didn't grasp that it was a School Trip for the children not a day out for themselves - its a commonly held misconception that I encounter regularly as a Support Worker.

Children only seem to do one extreme to the other, hate = anything I'm not particularly keen at this moment in time, something I've found with my nephew aged 6 - need to teach him vocabulary such as "disappointed."

yeah - the class teacher brought along her own toddler - I thought that odd considering it was supposed to be a 'field trip'?

goddess - I am cracking up!
after son left I gave OH his supper (I was too upset to eat) and he very carefully complimented me on his lovely supper.
I said 'its a good job we haven't got a cat now as the poor thing would be kicked'. and he said
'So I cant expect sex tonight'?
I said 'Your looking for a Fury F***?

he said 'I will take anything I can get' - which cracked me up laughing - I laughed for about five minutes then burst into tears! that's not ME! OH went and hid!
oh and I got rather further down the bottle of wine! I may start another bottle!

Hold up, that's a bit racy for a granny!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Seriously, I've been educated today, I've never heard of a "fury f***" before. Classic!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Many hugs. I coped with the dreaded school trips but I hated the school gate.

All the women in cliques talking about each other in hushed tones. I wouldn't mind but it was a Church school... you'd think they would know better.

As for lending money to the kids, if you do it for one you have to do it for them all and with 5 it could have worked out pretty expensive.

At least you showed willing and made the best of a bad situation.

Yes, I know GS really loves me - it just hurt a bit! I do understand he would have preferred his mum! who wouldn't? and the girl drowning on that beach really upset him - but I almost laughed when he described it as 'the girl sank'! Its just been a horrible day tbh, when I set out to make it a happy day for him - it just seems it went all wrong!

It's frustrating when you have days like today isn't it? :(

But from your GS point of view the day never went wrong... he went to the beach with his nan he loves really ;) had a go on some rides and an ice cream. And all little children should get covered in ice cream at least once in their lives!

    Hope tomorrow is better x

    Happy moneysaving all.

oh and just because I am a 'granny' does not mean I don't have a sex life! if you make it to your late fifties - I do hope you haven't given up your sex life!
