I hope you feel better for getting that out... I have a rule never to loan the children money.. They need to learn to budget and manage what they get.. I don't see them go without and I help in many other ways but I am not a bank and I am not a childminder!
Poor GS had probably been all excited about mummy going with him and was just expressing his disappointment, he won't have meant to hurt your feelings ((hugs))
As for parents not talking to you.. I went to the same school with my children from 1994 until 2 weeks ago and it was very very rare anyone spoke to me.. I sometimes think I have 3 heads or something. The girls have been at a new school for 6 and 2 weeks respectively and still no one talks to me.. it is quite crazy.. I think there might actually be something wrong with me.. how do you infiltrate these parent cliques????
I'm sure you have many things in your life to be thankful for and today was just a crappy one... everything crossed tomorrow brings you more happiness xxLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
goddess - I am cracking up!
after son left I gave OH his supper (I was too upset to eat) and he very carefully complimented me on his lovely supper.
I said 'its a good job we haven't got a cat now as the poor thing would be kicked'. and he said
'So I cant expect sex tonight'?
I said 'Your looking for a Fury F***?
he said 'I will take anything I can get' - which cracked me up laughing - I laughed for about five minutes then burst into tears! that's not ME! OH went and hid!
oh and I got rather further down the bottle of wine! I may start another bottle!0 -
I had it the other way round today OP. The children are planning a tea party for the adults and handed out invites (they are allowed one adult per child). I wrote and sent in my RSPV even drew some pictures on it
. Then on the way home he tells me he doesn't want me to come he's gong to ask grandad instead
It sounds a funny school trip if all the children had to take carers with them my sons school trips parents aren't allowed to go.
Not many speak to me at the school gates either, you are not alone.
I hope your are feeling a bit better now.0 -
I wouldn't trust my grandson with those teachers! I know they had unaccompanied children - but, they all sat together, stuffed their faces and totally ignored the kids! I was really annoyed that the beach 'activities' didn't materialise, and the unaccompanied kids were ignored and left to their own devices.0

I now feel like starting a thread saying all my exes are complete you know whats and its true, they are.
How many have you had?
Meritaten, sending you hugs ((((()))))
It sounds as though your day could definitely have been better, but at least it's almost over and you can relax. You've also made a tough decision today, to close the 'Bank of Mum' - I fully agree with you. Your income probably isn't unlimited, and to be fair, a high street bank wouldn't keep letting customers borrow and not pay anything back, so why should you?
I hope that you have a much happier day tomorrow

I had parent-child role reversal last Sunday - my Dad popped in for an hour or so, and nicked £2 off OH before he left for the Dartford Bridge....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
When the day starts wrong it goes wrong specially with kids , I feel for you but at the same day it sounded so bad as to be hilarious . I would not have dreamt to leave arrangements for my daughters day till the lastinute , she absolutely hates it when something she did not plan and agreed for goes on and u understand , it must have felt as if being passed from pilar to post, they are smal and helpless , his frustration understandable. By the sound of it kids would be better not attending that school trip , what a shamblesThe word "dilemma" comes from Greek where "di" means two and "lemma" means premise. Refers usually to difficult choice between two undesirable options.
Often people seem to use this word mistakenly where "quandary" would fit better.0 -

I think I did two: four hours on the coach, an hour on the beach. I HATE coach trips (I can still get travel sick) and I HATE beaches - (too many Burnt Bits in Broadstairs as a child).
I made DH take DS3. Neither was pleased.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I used to do all my daughters school trips as a accompanying adult..I loved it and had some great days out with well behaved children...It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
I will do almost ANYTHING when I get grandchildren, apart from the nursery trip to the seaside ... :rotfl:

I'm quite happy on coach trips, but agree with you about the beach - bl00dy sand gets everywhere! I couldn't imagine travelling so far to go to the seaside . We live 30-60 minutes away from various beaches, but I still don't go to any if I can help it!0
