mcculloch~~I too have a trike
Main problem is getting in out of garage as it is quite heavy.
Quite hard to clamber on too!!! :rotfl:
Mine is kept indoors, I have a ramp to get him in and out of my (very big) hallway via the front door. He is quite heavy but not impossible for me to handle in and out.
I have an 18 inch step through, which is just about the maximum height from the ground that I can manage with relative ease.
The company that made him, Triway, went out of business a few years ago, sadly. He is a star.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
I would love one if I ever move back to town again. Sorry I have been MIA. So many things happening, all pretty positive but taking my energy away. And all going in the right direction. Hope everyone is fineOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Good Morning :hello:
YAY! We're at the Winter Solstice :j My favourite day of the year:j More light from here on in :j YAY!
I too am sorry that I have been mia. Life *stuff* is just getting in the way. Nowt serious, but just stuff that is having an effect, and will have an effect into 2015. More *belt-tightening* is on the cards, certainly in January and February, and I am getting concerned that this * just..one...more...notch* malarkey will see us slicing ourselves in two, like a cheese slice:rotfl:
You've missed nowt on the meals front - believe me. Beige food is currently reigning supreme
NSD's have gone out of the window. However, I am purchasing thoughtfully - and taking advantage of bargains. I managed to get some of the cheddar that mrL had on special offer for this weekend (350g of Vintage Cheddar, £1.19 a pack - good until April 2015 unopened, and will be the basis of pizza toppings for as long as it lasts once grated, portioned and frozen)
Upsidedown Bear - your smilies on Friday and yesterday were superb - Thank youliltdiddylilt wrote: »GP - mail me if you would like me to collect some and stick them in the post for your kind attention..
Lilty - I do hope that folk that you value, tell you - on a regular basis - that you are, *A bloomin' marvel* with added, *Kindness personified * for good measureWith everything going on in your life, you still have time to offer help to others. I won't take you up on your kind offer, as DP is currently having to limit *interesting* foodstuffs, and as I don't like marzipan, the stollen would likely go to waste. However, I have noted that next year I shall have the pennies in my purse, so that when I see 'em, I shall buy 'em
Hopefuljoy - thank you for sharing Pirin's homecoming with usSo great to hear *positive* news from friends - rather than the depressing durge on TV. 2014 has been some year, eh? Wonder what 2015 has in store?
Miss Border Collie wags a tail and sends a little lick to Pirin, (looks like he is giving a thorough wash to that great smilie, towel at the ready:rotfl:)
*snort* :rotfl:
little_sweetie and supersaver - I value your input greatly - thank you for making time in your day to drop inmcculloch29 wrote: »We do have a couple of trikes locally, but there should be more of us. Much better than a mobility scooter!
mcculloch - was thinking of you the other week. I was over the *posh* end of town, and passed the local *Antiquities Emporium* (*ahem* - wot it 'tis called that side o' town - anyone else *may* term it a junk shop.......) However, outside, on the pavement, in glorious red and white, was an adult trike - complete with shopping basket under the seatunfortunately, I was driving, as I would have loved to see what condition it was in, and how much they wanted for it. I remember some friends who really got into going to auctions a few years ago - stuff was literally going for pennies. They were original *greens* (one has now sadly passed away), but I remember them telling me about one lot that they wanted to bid on - a gaggle of bicycles. They only wanted one of the bikes - but got outbid, because in the lot, was a racing trike, which someone else wanted - enough to buy the whole lot. I've never heard of a racing trike - have you?
We had a ball yesterday. Out cycling a greenway. It was a relatively short route - 12 miles round trip, but we legitimately got muddy! We had modest picnic - Hot chocolate and egg mayo sangers, on home-made bread made from the remaining whey from the last time that I made paneer. I did have to chuckle that a local baker (think *Artisanal*) is making a great marketing event of their 'Now in stock - Whey bread'.......So y'all take a waste product, and make it sound artisanal.... and....... Charge the punters best part of a £5 for the pleasure :j Whey/milk bread, as any bread maker knows, is well lush. Our sangers were made for pennies, but tasted a million dollars :rotfl: Isn't it easy to live a *rich* life if you give it the tiniest bit of thought and make a tiny effort here and there?
So here we are at the 4th Sunday in Advent. Apparently the theme for which is *Love*. Mmmm, if you listen to the news for more than five minutes a day, you'd be pretty hard-pressed to hear of any *love* going on....... I wonder how many sermons will rely on *Love is patient.....etc, etc* today. I remember having to make that reading at a family wedding. I can only guess that they chose me, [STRIKE]as I am clearly a natural orator[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]I possess gravitas [/STRIKE] I was the only one [STRIKE]brave[/STRIKE] stoopid enough to get up in front of a whole church of folk and say summat! :rotfl: The verse was read again recently, at the funeral of my school chum. Kind of took the joy off of it for meAnd yet, love is as much a part of death, as it is of marriage, and indeed, of birth. It is very easy to become a hypocrite as far as love is concerned. Very quickly you can descend into 'do as I say, not as I do'. I could never implore people to 'love their neighbour' (even though it is a laudable thing to do) - I certainly don't love mine, so why should I implore you to do something that I fail, on a daily basis, to do? I think, perhaps I'm still on the 'reasoned like a child' stage of my life..........
We watched a film last night, called The Book Thief. Not an easy watch, but quite a good film. The theme of the film, was, ultimately; death. So, not really one to watch unless you're feeling chipper and sorted.... but, also that before death, it is important to live. To live to the best of your ability. It seems that when you live to the best of your ability, love happens - and love is to be found in the most mysterious of places and between the most polarised of peoples.........
I can't promise that I'll live the Advent theme of *Love* today. I have no plans to go out and *Hugga Neighbour*......... but I'll try to remember that love moves in mysterious ways; can be found in the most unlikely of places; and above all, love always perseveres. And so must I.
I leave you, a work very much in progress........

Morning Greying and chums :hello:
So sorry things are tough for you at the minute. I have no doubt you'll deal with whatever comes your way with panache as usual but hope things ease up a little soon - hate to think of you being sliced like a cheese!

I was just musing on the 4 themes of Advent; Hope, Peace, Joy and Love.
Although it is, essentially an *Ad-Event*, advertising a newly published book, I Hope that the following 45 second video may bring a smile to your face. I Love illustration/animation - children's books/films are the best aren't they? Do you think that it conveys the Peace of a landscape blanketed in snow? And as for the Joy in the children's laughter.........
And if you'd actually like to read the poem, have a look at Snow

Hey Cheery - bless you for being so kindWe've just had a minor derailment, nothing serious. Honestly, in the grand scheme of things, we've doing fine, really fine and have mucho, mucho for which to be grateful. Our life is so *rich* compared to many. We'll push through
Lovely to *see* you
What flute music were you playing at the Christmas fayre?

Good morning Greying and chums! Thank you for your Pirin welcomes, he says woof and wags his tail to you all! I just went into dd room and they y were both curled up on the floor together asleep. Sooooo sweet. DD has amazed me the last couple of days. She's doing all the training and behaviour by the book and is being really mature about his needs long term ie being a proper little dog. She adores him!
Greying I do feel for you today. The last year has really been tough internationally, nationally and personally for everyone and god knows we could all do without further derailments. I realised some years ago that it did me know good to watch the news or read newspapers so I stopped overnight. Instead I listen to radio four on the way to work. Somehow I can cope with that. I think it is because they are so calm and measured in their delivery and they get proper experts in who put it into perspective. It world for me and if it helps you then hurrah!
I can guarantee also that the following will happen on tv on Christmas Day. In eastenders a character will either die in a road accident outside the queen vic or there will be a massive fight, a famous elderly celebrity will die with their death announced on the evening news, there will be a natural disaster reported, a crash will occur somewhere in the world and reported at great length, dr who will be inexplicably complicated and a mild disappointment but no one will admit it and downtown abbey will go on just a few minutes too long!!! I will watch call the midwife in order to avoid all of the above!
Now that I've exposed my cynical side to you all I shall go and hang my head in shame..... Before making some tiny cheese and olive scones by delia, they freeze and are truly things of beauty!!With family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

Hopefuljoy - you are right - particularly about the Chrimbo soap plot lines! I don't watch any of them - haven't since the, 'Angie - I wanna DIVORCE' saga....... and I'm not entirely sure that I saw that 'live' - may just have seen the 'moments' progs a few too many times.......
I gave up listening to the [STRIKE]Evan Davis - all about ME show[/STRIKE] Today programme some time ago. But given that Mr D has moved on, perhaps I ought to give it another go...... DP tends to have mr evans on - I assume to 'keep down wif da kids' but I tend to find him marginally too hyper for first thing in the morning...... I do believe that he has got a heart of gold though
Well done DD - pets are brilliant, but we must be good custodians of them, which does involve a lot of time and commitment (which is repaid in spades with unconditional love from them) so :T BRAVO! that DD has started as she intends to carry on:D:D
Right, I really ought to go and do something constructive about the house

Why bother? It'll just get messy again. Someday you'll post that you had a totally lazy day finished off with a takeaway eaten from the carton. And, guess what, the world won't end! I do agree though that pet related responsibilities must come first
Anyhow, until you discover true laziness, thanks for inspiring me to get off my backside and instead get it into gear.
