Hi Greying, lovely food piccies as usual, makes me feel hungry to look at them. I clicked on the linkie for the Barley Bowl the other day and then saw the recipe for Immune Soup, I have to confess to a couple of mods, chicken stock and a small amount of cooked chicken from the freezer, it is amazing, so warming with all the pepper, garlic and ginger, I also added a few little bundles of frozen spinach, I think it will be a regular when one of us starts to sneeze!
I bought one of the A*di heated throws a few weeks ago, because it is double thickness with the wires sandwiched between, it is really warm and snuggly even when not switched on.
Shame about the wheels, I was thinking that the demand would be so high that we might have to fit one of those Santa type tracking devices to it in order to gauge when you would get to each of us:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

You'll have to tell him to get up and do some dusting while he's watching the TV. That should keep him warm

I think this thread is better than the BBC 'cos one person asks a question or mentions something relevant and a whole host of people offer sound advice or useful information. What more can we want?
. New subject....heated throws and men dusting....whatever next... :rotfl:

Hello everyone! The end of a week I thought was going to be really stressful but which really wasn't.... everyone in my dept is genuinely pleasant and caring. Hurrah!:j
I had my last rape counselling session this week. It has been an incredibly healing process and I'm so much happier now. I can't begin to describe the difference it has made but I'm now open to the possibility that God might have a wonderful man in mind for me at some time in the future. All I have to do is turn up and recognise him when he arrives in my life! Until then I am very happy to bimble along with no negative feelings towards myself and build a more balanced life. My aim for the coming year is to build interests outside teaching rather than flump on the sofa each evening.I'm going to set one evening aside each week to leave the house and do something I enjoy. :rotfl: My DD won't mind as she is gradually moving away from my side as teenagers do.
As winter draws in this year I'm no longer dreading it, it's a new time and season in my life and I'm quietly excited. :T
Anyhow, that 's enough about me.... what are people planning for Christmas Day lunch/dinner? I am seeking new inspiration and the GH magazine was rather a disappointment.
Love to you all and can't wait to see everyone's next posts!:jWith family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

Hopefuljoy, that is such an inspiring post and I am so happy that you now feel as you do.:A
No thoughts on Christmas food here yet, it is usually just OH, me and dog, or sometimes my Ma comes over or I cook at hers (that way she gets to see more of "the clan" - I am one of 5:D
There will have to be a trifle, as that is OH's absolute favourite, smoked salmon and scramblers often feature for breakfast, but I haven't thought about main meal yet. Looking forward to hearing what others are doing though, GP you host a marvellous place for ideas:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0
