I had just got to the last sentence of a HUGE post...... and pressed what I thought was 'return'..... and MSE threw me off.......
HUMPF! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
greenbee - I'm sure I'm a PITABut I arrived home to Greying Towers to 2 missives from the power company - one telling me all about my tariff..... um, OK, and one that contained 2 little cards..... so I could send them a meter reading! :rotfl: So in a 14 day period, they have had 3 meter readings, and their meter reader has had a look at the outdoor gas meter...... I've filled in the forms and will pop them in the post tomorrow
Upsidedown Bear - I think it is great that the lion remembered the humans - they must have treated him well, animals ain't daft. But I do think that the Aerosmith track was just pure class......
Hopefuljoy - take care youAnything we can do (within our circle of control) to keep healthy has got to be a good thing imho.
I snagged a NSD :j
I wittered on at length about tons of other stuff, but now I'm just gonna leave you with a snap of us tea;
A 'melange'of; spicy colourful cabbage (Reza Mohammed recipe), Aubergine Bhuna (close to Memorygirl's version, but no coconut or green beans), Chickpea Chasni (leftover from Saturday is strictly curry Murray and using up some of the - now 1 day out of date - YS'd yoghurt I bought yesterday) and then finally, a small portion of rice.
It was actually more colourful than the pic suggests - a combination of poor light and camera options meant I could only do green 'bias' or orange 'bias' - orange was slightly more true to life..... Given that it was 'leftovers' and brought together on the spot, it was a lovely meal - even DP conceded that it was a cheery, festive plate of food that would not look out of place if served up on Christmas Day.......... ( :j ) :rotfl:
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
that DP finally made a decision about something and followed though - it wasn't easy, and is probably a 'no-win' situation anyway.....
that 'cliques' ultimately show themselves up..... for what they are.......
for a lovely, frugal dinner
Thank you so much for popping in, reading and joining in. Mucho, mucho appreciated, and I never tire of thanking you for your support - YOU'RE ALL GRAND
See y'all later.

Hi Greying :wave:
All I want say is nom..nom..nom
Oh and upsidedown Bear's avatar is now turning blue (with cold presumably?) I must confess that our heating is coming on (and being left on for 2 hours) every morning. I can't abide showering in a cold bathroom, wimp that I am....

I'm looking at my heated throw and figuring it should now emerge from its box in the corner where it has been living since April. What a blessing that was as a buy.
I hate showering in a cold bathroom too, but since I began working from home and not using public transport as much I haven't felt the need for daily showers. I realised my need to shower daily was only down to one thing really, so I bought a portable bidet, sorry if that's TMI, but it's fantastic, I can feel really cleansed without the need to be totally immersed.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Go mculloch. I've just popped in to see what GP is having for tea and found myself looking up portable bidets. I didn't know they existed, but it looks very money saving and hygienic.
Just shows, what you learn on here. Amazing.
Well I've cooked up my chicken and put too much water in, so had watery stock last night. So this morning I added 2 packed of chopped veg from MrT. They were £1.25 for the two (buy 2 get one free offer). But tonight still watery. So lots of cumin in. Now a tin of lentils, chickpeas and 2 cups of rice. I've still got to pull the chicken apart and put that in. I think I'll perhaps just freeze the stock for gravy next time. 😝😝😝😝

Blimey! Portable bidets????:eek: A greater invention than the wheel methinks! :rotfl:
Dear Mothernerd I hope your replacement hip is making a huge difference to your life..... my mother had a replacement knee a few years ago and has never looked back after years of pain. Her recommendation is that no matter how much she didnt want to she kept doing the exercises every day and as a result she recovered really quickly.:T:T
I am going to be perusing the new Good HOUSEKEEPING Christmas recipe magazine tonight. :A It's a little frustrating that they've removed the carb and calorie info but their recipes really work. I had one of their previous magazines for years but must have thrown it out last time I had a purge.... won't be doing that again!:(
Dinner last night looked fabulous Greying!! I am still in awe of your culinary abilities and dedication. :T
Take care everyone and sleep well!:beer:With family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

It's 'Big End' has 'gorn' and no scrapper within a 100 mile radius has a replacement..... what is a gal to do????? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Right, well, *ahem* on to other moneysaving matters of the day.....
I popped into the bank at lunchtime to deposit our 'coin' collection. We save the pennies etc, then bank them and change them into pounds to save for the various nephews and nieces 'special' birthdays. The bank teller, who is very nice and genuinely friendly said that they had been inundated in the last couple of days with folk bringing in their 'change' jars, pots, bags etc. A sure sign that Christmas is approaching - why did I think of the sealed pot challengers on MSE?Interesting that as I exited the bank, the manager walked out ahead of me and up the high street. He dove into B00ts and was last seen standing in front of the sanger cabinet...... even if he does the meal-deal, he's clearly not an mser if he doesn't take his own snap to work....... Which makes me laugh all the more, as a couple of years ago, this bank got very pushy with their sales techniques for their products (and yes, I know it wasn't the cashiers fault - they had to hit targets etc, but it just all got out of hand....) I overheard him on his mobile one morning, talking very animatedly about how they had too many counter staff and not enough 'managers' - ? Always a queue at the counter in that branch.........
I didn't snag a NSD, as I dove into the bike shop and bought a *tingly* bell for my bike. Walkers will now know that I am about, as it makes a better sound than the *ping ping* thing that the bike was supplied with :j
Dinner this evening was a Buddha bowl. Very much made up on the hoofish, utilising what I had, and a change from what I had envisaged. Thankfully it were yummy thoughPic here;
From the bottom, we have; toasted buckwheat with fried red onion and celery running through it. I then tossed in some chopped up broccoli and some chilli flakes. I topped that with a Swede and Feta Fritter that I made last week (there were 2 left over and frozen). I then used some frozen cannellini beans to make a white bean and lemon dressing and topped this with onion seeds. I have to say, it delivered on tasteThe nutty buckwheat, the peppery swede and savoury broccoli. It was good
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
for Delicious Ambiguity- where in the world will it take us next?.............
for *gentlemen* and manners - wholly appreciated by me today
for the anticipation of adventures - tomorrow
Thank you so much for popping in, reading and talking plumbing........
See y'all later - but if I'm not around tomorrow, it'll be on account of we're off adventurising

mcculloch - thank you so much for your posts on this thread - you are brill - you know that don't you? I meant to ask, is that throw (in the box) the one that Ald* sold, didn't Piq have one too? I should have got DP one, the blanket we have on the sofa isn't quite warm enough when it gets really cold, or if he's watching TV for a while.

You'll have to tell him to get up and do some dusting while he's watching the TV. That should keep him warm :cool:0
