*sigh*
In this modern age of computers and information overload, why does the fact that my energy company claim that my 'personal projected gas use' will cost over £39,000 in the next 12 months....... not surprise me
Why, when I submit my meter readings weekly, did the meter reader - reading the meter 3 days later - apparently submit a gas meter reading that was what I had submitted as my use 3 weeks ago?
Why, when I chatted to an adviser online, was their 'knee jerk' response to say.... 'As we move into winter, consumption will go up, as will costs.....'
At least they had the decency to actually look again at the figures when I pointed out the £39,000 disparity from what they were projecting I would use in my October statement, and perhaps got the sarcasm (intended) in my query as to what weather forecast the energy company had been listening to.......
Mind, I did get a *free* laugh at the paragraph on the last page that reads; 'If my personal projection is >£39,000 then how can my monthly Direct Debit be £XX.xx?' How indeed? :rotfl:
*sigh*
Good job I've not got a frail heart - could have knocked me sideways seeing that figure! :rotfl:
I must re-sign up to :money:'s club. If I could find an energy co that didn't charge a daily standard charge, I'd probably be in the money....... I've been with this lot over a year now, not that there is an exit fee anyway (and neither should there be!). I got fed up of the last lot because they insisted on playing silly b's instead of providing good customer service.

Sorry to hear of your energy company woes - although I confess I'm laughing quite a bit at the thought of a ludicrous £39,000 gas bill! :rotfl: :rotfl: Will you be running your entire house as a permanent neighbourhood sauna?! :rotfl:0

Hello GP!!
I have fashioned some semblance of a computer together with the two pieces of my laptop and a monitor borrowed from work. Tis only temporary however as I don't see work lending me equipment, even unused, for very long.
Dinners as always looking lovely. Your inspiration has me turning homemade burgers and out of date tortillas into enchiladas with homemade sauce.
rtandon had to laugh at your other half. Bless!
GP, just to say, in real life I have a 'home' name, and a work name. As I work in finance, my name has to match that of my passport, but no-one calls me that! So I basically answer to anything. My username is a nickname built on a mistype of my home name, if you follow :rotfl: so call me whatever comes easily to your mind.
Will try and be around, but it may be few and far between. I almost spent £800 on a shiny new pretty macbook tonight, but it needs to wait until January when my savings kick out. So I closed the page
Off to sleep now. Nanight! x

Good Morning :hello:
Beanie - you are so right - they are all the pits aren't they, every last one of them.
Cheery - that's the thing, the energy co rep 'didn't get it' at first (and we'll wait to see if they have really 'got' what I was on about). DP said thank goodness it wasn't the leccy bill, as it wouldn't have been the neighbourhood sauna we'd have been running.......As long as the computer doesn't seek to 'match' my D/D to my projected bill, we may yet be ok.......
GP - the OH mentioned that 'we' should check what's on for curry murray tonight - he doesn't even like curry!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
^ I LOVE this:D DP told me off for not putting curry on the menu last night, as I could have made this in advance and not missed the footy. As it was, I altered the dish, got to watch most of the first half, and then whilst making tea, missed the first 2 goals........ :rotfl:
Lilt - here's hoping your workplace is 'well endowed' with equipment and they are happy that at least one teeny, tiny little thing is being used, not stuck in a cupboard. Fingers crossed for ya that you get to borrow it until your finances allow a replacement
moneyistooshorttomention - it would have been 'oh diar' in deed wouldn't it?
So, yesterday turned out as planned. We spent dosh, so can't claim a NSD.
Dinner did morph from 'mushroom barley orzotto' (Heidi's version) into mushroom pasta. Simply because I couldn't be bothered to stand over the stove by the time we got in. As it was, I got to see the 'boring' half of the footy, and then missed 2 of the goalsStill, we won in the end. We then watched the Scotland v New Zealand rugger match, which we had taped. A much more entertaining match, and I really, really thought that Scotland were going to beat NZ, or at the very least keep it to the 1 point difference. In the end, it was not to be, but as ever, Scotland put their heart and soul into playing. I'm looking forward to watching the Scotland v England footy on Tuesday (if it is on terrestrial TV) as I'm expecting good football from the Scottish team. No reason why they can't beat England. What I'd really like to see is a fabulous match, and be content whatever the score, whoever the eventual winner. That's what sport should be about.
Did anyone else watch that 'War poets' programme later on? We've been to several places this year that have featured WW1 exhibitions, and because of what we had seen/read/understood, this programme really, really conveyed the horrors of the Somme.
We've had a lie-in this morning. Makes a nice change and I'm not complainingBest start shifting a tail-feather now though.
Dinner this evening is going to be curry...... Maybe DP had a point.......:rotfl: It's the Bengali Butternut Squash recipe that muddywhitechicken put us on to
Aiming for a NSD today. And I'm going to sort out my Christmas card list. DP has mentioned getting a walk in too. Don't think it will be anywhere too far, just to the park or something. I'm also going to have to work out what to do with half a bag of rocket, as I totally forgot to put it in the pasta dish last night  And needless to say, I didn't take a photo - y'all know what mushroom fusilli pasta looks like, topped with 'parmesan' type cheese
Thank you so much for popping in, reading and commenting. I greatly appreciate it.
See y'all later.
