No offence intended GP.

What lovely smilies! The sun has just come out here, may your day be sunnier too, Bear.
Has anybody else got Jack Monroe's latest book? Having seen it advertised as a paperback, I got a surprise when a weighty hardback thudded on to my mat yesterday. I have already tried one recipe, it worked well but with a little tweak needed. Jack had raw eggs tipped in to a pasta / cauliflower mix and then under the grill with it. I cooked the mix for a few minutes on the stove. It was fine.
Interestingly enough, when Jack put this recipe on her blog yesterday she advocated finishing it off in the oven, so she must have spotted that adjustment was needed. Looking through the other recipes, they look great, in the first book a few of the recipes needed tweaking. I love her style, though. That's the first new mains recipe I have tried in a little while.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... Verbatim - you just made me laugh out loud! Lawks, i'm getting predictable :rotfl::rotfl:
I decided against pizza and wedges, as when I did the planner, I didn't know what we would be doing 'hols' week, so I thought a stew/casserole type thing would be easier.
Back to normal next week hun, for Halloween........

Phew! Glad I made you laugh. Was worried it might come over as very rude, especially as I don't post much.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420

You had me worried there that it wasn't Friday :eek:
On the Newcomers thread we always have a Friday wiggle so...0 -
mucculloch - I shall be honest and say that I have lost track of Jack's book launch date.
It's a shame that the wrinkles aren't ironed out of recipes at an earlier stage. But I'm sure that it is the tight schedules that publishers work too - gotta 'surf the wave' and all......
I shall look out for it at the library none the lessThanks for popping in - great to *see* ya
