Living on next to nought - is that the key?

"We actually just *stood* in the sunshine this afternoon - really sad, and we must have looked so silly, but golly, it was good to feel the warmth, really, really good."
What is this life if, full of care,We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.

Greying, I'm sorry that things are a bit.....um......difficult? It is hard when you realise that maybe friendships, relationships have run their course. I hope the situation turns out best for you and dear DP. Have a dodgy hug to make you smile :grouphug:Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Hey mrsinvisible - thank you for your kind words. I like that thought, 'travelling lightly'. Mmm, it conjures up enjoying life - but not necessarily trashing the joint - because you're worth it...
satchmo - you've made me feel uber smug:D:D:rotfl: Not only were we 'standing and staring' in the sunshine yesterday (ooof - blooming great loll-abouts <insert indignant smiley> :rotfl:) But we spent time 'standing beneath boughs' on Sunday - well, technically, sitting eating snap - but you get my drift
We are the living embodiment of Mr Davies' poem!
:rotfl:
INOD - hey you - hope all is well?
starnac - ta love - hugs are always welcome on this thread. May they never be rationedYes, I'm blessing the good times we've had with these friends and then just letting go. What will be will be.
Well, plan A is scuppered. I was going to tackle the shed, but its pouring with rain, so whilst I'd be ok inside the shed, really to do a proper job, I've got to move everything out and then only put the 'essentials' back in. But everything will get soaked - whether it's a keeper or not, so that plan won't work
So, instead shall I have a go at sorting out the remainder of our meal plan for April, or shall I let my mind wander to meal planning for our holiday......... decisions, decisions.... :rotfl:
I hope you realise you've all cheered me up - significantly:D

Dearest Greying and chums.
Good morning.
Me dear two things. [well three now I remembered about puffins]
Firstly you plough a lovely team greying furrow, which is deeply respected by anyone who appears to interact with you. I do understand the 'tother bit'and whilst we're all a bit chamelion-esk, I'm sure you'll find a way forward which suits your heart and folks will deeply respect you for it or lose that special interaction they do have with you.
Secondly - I found a book I think you've written under an american pen name - or are you actually from over t' pond, Doris?
I picked it up at womble HQ for a suitable donation - and its lovely. If you've not got a copy please let me know as I'd happily pass it on might be good for that holiday meal planning. Or you can sign it for me
You see you've wandered again haven't you.
PS The puffins have kicked the penguins into touchand sent them off in their little jackets back 'doon sooth'.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

I've just found this thread and am going to begin reading from page 1
What a beautifully written and kept up to date diary.
I'm loving the recipes, found the lemon cakes and may make these on thursday even though it will mean ducking into Mr A's for lemon curd, I'll probably need to go for more milk anyway so it's justified :T
Keep on keeping on GP :money::money:0 -

It's the Afghan Carrot Hotpot recipe that muddywhitechicken directed us too.

Good Evening :hello:
I'm going to call it early today and retire to Bedfordshire just now.
But I did want to say WELCOME to Chi-me and apologise for the fact that the moment you mentioned that this diary was routinely updated, I went AWOL :rotfl:
Thank you if you've left a comment - I shall respond tomorrow
Everything I have touched today has gone wrong, broken, or starting with my post on here this morning - got lost into the ether!
I'm going to go to bed, in the hope that tomorrow will be mucho, mucho betterIn the meantime, DP is looking nervous, and keeping his distance :rotfl:
Thank you for popping by. I hope you day has been brill
Edit: The only silver lining is that I've not spent a bean all day - so have legitimately claimed a NSD
See y'all later.
