REALLY?
Another example of what happens when people don't bother reading what's in front of them.
Assuming you've been had by Driving Licence UK, the same site as the OP, the second sentence, slap bang in the middle at the top of the homepage of the website says:
"Our online service provides a complete checking service and this
service will fill out the form on your behalf and send it to you"
So you'd never get to the application if you read that.
They even say this:
Our service is not connected to or affiliated with the UK Government or Driving Vehicle Licence Agency and acts as an agent processing the application. These services are available from other government sources for no fee.0 -

Isn't that awful of them, hiding away the truth about their service and its lack of affiliation to the real DVLA?
Oh, wait...0 -

If you've beenthroughitall did you appreciate people kicking you while you were down?
It is clear all those scammed realise their mistake. You don't need to keep sarcastically pointing it out to them. What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?1 -

Fact of life unfortunately, you get kicked while you're down. I've made mistakes, and some have been hard-won lessons, but that's what they are; lessons. I certainly haven't ever gone crying about the fact that someone's held up their side of an unfair bargain which I agreed to anyway.
I'm sorry if you feel aggrieved at my point of view, but ultimately if you're too lazy to read the small (or in this case, bloody large and obvious) print, then you're not being scammed, you're paying for the privilege of being an idiot.0 -

I am not being sarcastic or wishing to kick anyone while they are down - I'm posting in the hope of raising awareness of this money making scheme so that less folks will use it. But some folk need protecting from themselves.
You might accuse me of playing with words but this is NOT a scam. There is nothing illegal or criminally fraudulent about it. It's a growth industry due to it's success.
But this whole thing depends on people not really understanding the true meaning of words like 'available elsewhere for no fee'!!!!
People need to read the small print - ask what 'Sunny Delight' is - and most people will tell you it's an orange drink. Wrong - read the label to see how much orange is in it. Nowhere does it mention any oranges at all. Perhaps you think that's a scam too.
It is morally wrong, it is unfair, it exploits those who do not read things properly - but unfortunately it is not illegal - yet.
Like https://www.dvla-driving-licence.co.uk/ is what it says it is - not what people think it says.
They do actually send you the completed forms for you to send on.
The Post Office do a similar thing for passports and charge £8 for checking that you haven't forgotten anything in the envelope.
I can't understand why people use that service. We discussed it at work one day over coffee and some of my colleagues thought that was the acknowledged correct/usual way to do it - one of them insisted they didn't know they could just send the stuff directly.
Due to the success of these enterprises more of them are springing up every day.
google driving licence and you will find not one but 3 of these companies.0 -

How many more times.....?!
Surely people know by now that if a website ends in .gov and nothing else, then its the legit government website. If its .com/.co.uk/.org/.gov.uk/.gov.org/.gov.com then its all a 'checking service'0 -

.gov.uk IS the correct suffix for government based sites in this country and .gov tends to be used by the US government.0 -
