Morning all!
My OH has taken our son out shopping so I've got no excuse not to tidy up the house while they are out of the way!
I'm suffering slightly with this hot weather at 8 months pregnant, so I will use that to my advantage. (I felt really guilty yesterday when my OH was cleaning the cars, mowing the lawn and hoovering the house....I was on a chair in the garden with my feet up!)
Anyway, better go before I end up divorced. Best wishes to all - sorry for a flying visit. Will have a proper read-through this evening.0 -
Morning all.................
Not a happy bunny this morning, Powergen sent me a letter addressed to New Customer, and threatening me with debt collectors for a bill which was for the previous tenant of the apartment. When I phoned I got really snotty girl who kept asking me for the reading when we moved in. She would not accept that they already had it via the sheltered housing officer....I got angry and so did OH, he actually screamed at her down the phone..........I was shaking like a leaf, thought he was about to wreck all the good work I put in with him last week, as it was he spent half of yesterday in bed!!!!!
The b***** woman cut me off, so I phoned the housing people and he has just phone me back, they had the figures all the time, insisted that we would have to pay the bill from 27th Feb.......HO said oh no they don't they pay from the date they took over the apartment which is 2nd April not 27th Feb...eventually they agreed and are sending us a new bill, it will still be around £20 but thats fine, I just objected to paying for someone elses power.
OH seems ok, after his outburst, fingers crossed, he seems to get the pain if he is stressed.............he is doing the last of the jigsaws I bought him, it is not an easy one, a lot of reflections.
Much cooler this morning, although the forecast is for it to get warmer......I need to get a small fan to cool the bedroom a bit, it was very warm in there last night.
Nothing planned for today except to unpack those blessed boxes, I really am sick of waking up and looking at them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need a trip to the library sometime this week to get books, I have just about finished all of mine, and OH has 4 waiting to be collected.
Lamb for supper I think...........did not do the treacle sponge last night it was too warm for a hot pudding, always keep a vienetta in the freezer for emergencies, so we had a slice each of that.
Had a voucher from Lakeland this morning for £10..............will have to see if there is anything I really need, otherwise will hold on to it for a while.
Right off to calm down a bit and drink my coffee.............
((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS FRUGAL)))))))))))))))))))))) hope everything ok ok this morning.

Big hugs Frugal -sending you lots of positive thoughts..
I was 34ish when I had the same - and after an excruciating mammogramm (I'm tiny too so not a lot to put between the two plates!) they told me that I was too young to tell anything from a mammogram - so went for an ultrasound. All done same day, day after I saw the doctor so it's usual for them to move quickly. Mine was (and I'll spell this wrong!) a fibroadoenema - nothing to worry about. do hope you're okay.
Hope your toe heals quickly, queenie.
Scuzz - hugs, hope it all works out.
Penny - sending you hugs too. Hope the meds are more effective for you.
Hello to everyone else!
Well - went to see the house yesterday and I was so hoping I wouldn't fall in love with it. And I did - but it does have drawbacks like the rooms are a bit small, and my dog would ruin the lovely garden. Also a bit noisy from the road. So we're thinking. the layout is perfect for us though.
work started on my house today. Tree was removed this morning - all done before 8 - bet the neighbours love me! got a builder coming round tonight to give quote for replacing floor and flat roof. The loan came through today so transferred that to my deposit account so it will build interest in the very short time it will be there. OH and I cleared a lot of rubbish out of the garage and shed at the weekend so I do feel things are starting to move.
by the way what's the etiquette? I say OH but we don't live together, but he is becoming like the other half of me - adore him! BF sounds a bit casual, and I feel a bit ridiculous saying boyfriend at my age! We had been planning to get married next year, but the dds were so moody at my graduation that it's put us off having any kind of event again!
Hope everyone has a good start to the week.

Morning :hello:
Didn't get on here over the weekend so thought I'd better check in this morning and say hi
Frugal: I've missed hearing why we're all wishing you good luck, but good luck anyway
PP/Natzini: hope you are both feeling better soon
Hardup Hester: hope the pay gets sorted soon, don't you just hate other people's incompetence
I've got a very busy week this week - loads to do at work, four nights out plus a daytime house party on Saturday and a choir concert on Sunday  - so will be making the most of tonight and Thursday which are my nights off! Luckily I don't need to do much in the way of cooking or shopping - I did a batch of chilli for the freezer at the weekend, and if I do a soup this evening I'll be sorted for the whole week.
Anyway, must get back to work - just want to get today's huge to do list over and done with!

Hi everyone!
Despite my grumblings about how much I loathe gardening OH pitched in and helped me and I really enjoyed it:o Had quite an OS time really as we were using our own compost partly and supporting the plants with branches we cut off the buddlia last year when we cut it back. Having finally learnt the hard way [and the expensive way!!] that I can't cram in too many perennials as I've killed them off over the years as if they were annuals. Everything now has space and is flourishing and found a couple of new plants that had selfseeded from the original one which I've transplanted. All looks very pretty. Bought a few annuals [only 18...this is from the girl who used to happily order 150 in my non thrifty days!] and a lovely pot which was half price at the garden centre:j
OS today...bed making, bin and recycling out and dark wash done and hung. Tonight I need to contact a freecycler about some Vileda mop heads she's got for me and try to get a quote from confused.com. Must also finish off the elderflower cordial which needs sugar adding and boiling up. My friend bought in a fruit smoothie with some of the dandelion honey they'd made added to it. Delicious!
For those of you trying to cut down your use of plastic carrier bags Wilkinson's currently has the reusable ones on offer for 20p.[will be 45p] Going to sneak back in there after work and buy 10 and put away in the pressie box for small gifts for a certain festival later in the year [sorry can't bring myself to say the C word in June!]

Where is everyone! Normally when I finish work, we're usually on page 3 or 4.
dannahaz thanks for the advise, everything has been checked. twice if not 4 times over, Ive retraced my steps, looked int he frigde, kitchen drawers even in both loos. It will turn up when I least expect it to! That'll teach me not to put in my purse straight away!
csarina what a night mare ref the bill! glad you got it sorted!
mrs-mix hope your'e feeling better soon & DD, and hoping the anti-biotics work for you!
got some washing to get through again, it was cleared by saturday, but soon piles up again.
Not sure whats for dinner yet, as Ive taken 4 containers out of the freezer all of various HM -pre-cooked meals. So it'll be what ever is revealed once defrosted, lid removed and then take your pick!
Catch you later
Love Emma xxx
P.S. Other half on friday fetched the kids after finishing work at 1.15pm, didnt even bother to tell the babysitter he'd got them, for 2 hrs & 15mins she was fretting like mad, wandering where they had gone! She is just over 7months pregnant, and a shock like that could have started her into early labour. Im so furious!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Hello everyone!
I'm back and a bit better... am full of codeine now, have ordered the online shop (hopefully will last us a good couple of weeks, spent about £50 without meat, so it'd better!!) aaaaannnnd, wait for it, a MR Fastbake!! I got the one that was on offer, and cannot wait to get it, am like a child waiting for Christmas when I order stuff!
Sometime in the week I'll be able to pop over to the farm shop to get our meat for the next couple of weeks, so that's food sorted I think.
Am sending lots of hugs to PP, Frugal, BW and anyone I've missed, whoever needs them etc xx

Hi all,
Thought I'd pop in and say hi :hello:
Bit of an odd morning for me.. I toddled off to work this morning, had to nip out to hand one of my Uni assignment sheets in as my tutor had lost it and they needed it to calculate my marks for the year, anyhoo, I was walking back from Uni enjoying the lovely sunny summery weather when I heard a massive bang followed by a huge cloud of smoke from the next road along. It scared the life out of me!!! I got back to work and we were evacuated 10 mins later (we live in Crewe), there had been an explosion at the chemical factory in the next street - it was huge, I could see fireballs rising though the smoke from my office window  If you switch sky news on it's on there!!!
So am now at a bit of a loss as to what to do with myself!!
Hugs to all who need them, am off to find something to keep me entertained..
Sarah xx0
