I know you're sorted but this wouldn't have been any good for you anyway! I found a fabulous lady in Newton-le-Willows (near Warrington/St Helens) so if anyone needs their dress altering and is fairly near there let me know and I'll give you her number. Be warned she's VERY busy (because she's good!) so leave lots of time for your alterations (at least three months) but from my experience would recommend leaving as much time as possible for alterations anyway! :-)

Chaps, just wanted to edit as a few people have asked for details on this thread of my lady but since I don't check this thread anymore (wedding a distant memory now!) I haven't seen them! If you PM me I'll pass on all her details and any other information you need :-) Alternatively you can check out her website :-)
Comping, freebieing and trying to pay the mortgage off early!
  • Another option is looking on the MacCulloch & Wallis website - they have a directory of seamstresses/dressmakers.

Hi, I just had a look on that site and couldn't find it. Can you please tell me whereabouts on the site the list is? Thanks.
  • Here you go - it's not on their main website anymore, they must have changed it:

I know its too late for you but it might help others!

After purchasing me a bargain wedding dress yesterday I wanted to check that the quote I got for alterations was accurate - googled wedding dress search and found these people

Hi, yes I saw these guys but I thought they looked rather pricey. Also bear in mind that the price list online is from 2005 so it will most definitely have gone up by now.
