  • Please don't get upset Lucky but was wondering why, if you are already struggling, you have asked to be made a BG in the thread where they ask for volunteers? Surely if you're getting so stressed and feeling unwell etc this is the wrong thing to do. Won't it just add to your workload? xx Nothing is worth more than your health hun. You seem like a lovely lady so make sure you keep yourself well above all else.

i know someone with CFS and i really cant imagine how you manage to do a 8.30am to 9.30pm shift.
i know cfs differs from person to person but most well people who work do not do 11 hour shifts. i can only assume you have no support with cfs as any medical professional will tell you that is silly and will not aide your recovery. so im saying it instead. srry if you dont like that, but take it as a helpful comment, not as a criticism

    THANK YOU,

Yes there is a awful lot of people non medical & medical that still do not believe in M.E/CFS.

Mine started due to all ready by then having 6 illnesses I caught C-diff no idea where I picked that up & went to the out of hours GP. there was a waiting room full of people with what looked like the flu. In two day's I had the flu on top of the C-diff. My body could not cope. The C-Diff got better, the flu was better after 14 days had 7 days where I was just starting to feel better & had the full blown flu again for another 14 day's. Then after another 7 day's I had the full blown flu again for another 14 days.

My body never recovered. The best way I can describe C.F.S/M.E is think of the last time you had the full blown flu, where you can't get out of bed & feel very ill.

That is what C.F.S/M.E feels like in varying degrees.

    THANK YOU,

The reason why I applied for the BG role is because instead of sending all the Pm's to people to change their titles, write please change the titles, I would have the means to do it myself with a few clicks which would actually be easier than now.

I also put myself forward because I would BG the board in a different way to how it is now. I would be on the board to catch the wrong titles, catch the merges as they come in. Pro active I guess you would call it.

I try my hardest to be a nice person despite what my body throws at me every day, & I try & push myself although it's not always the best idea but I try & make the best out of what I ave been given.

I am a lot better off than a lot of people who have C.F.S/M.E because lots of people can't get out of bed.

dont you fear heading the same way? i mean, all the stress you seem to place on yourself and the "shift" here every day must be exhausting. i hope youre taking this the right way-that i dont mean any malice or anything that im genuinely concerned that u have this illness that is debilitating yet u seem to be making it worse. why would u do that? i didnt mention people not believing, i know there are still people who dont believe but im not one of them. im just saying that if u did have medical help then they would tell you to conserve energy etc, that stress is not good for u.
i hope she wont mind me saying but OYL has the same illness and i see what she goes thru and i woulnt wish the illness on anyone, some days she cant get out of bed and anything she does she pays a high price of pain, tiredness, memory loss etc. please have a think, maybe re -evaluate things?
p.s this is my last "preaching" post ;)

I do agree with most, but as i mainly comp by end date only I dont find many problems as by the time i get to them they are already sorted.

I still think there should be a no posting rule until youve had an account for a certain period of time though.
E.g you can comment on posts but not start a thread until youve been a member for say 4 weeks, that will sort out the 'fly by nights'
Still comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:

Luckyone, I don't know if you have ever read The Spoons Theory. It was written by someone with Lupus, but applies equally well to CFS. I think that WeAreGhosts is concerned that you are giving all your spoons to keeping this board running smoothly. You ought to keep some of those spoons for yourself.

I agree with this!! The spoons theory is well worth a read. Lucky if things are taking up that much time and affecting your health in a negative way then please do consider taking a step back. We all are here to do our bit to keep things running smoothly you shouldn't feel so worn out by it especially as this is a hobby you don't want it feeling like a full time job on top of your illnesses. I'm not always around but if you see me online and things need doing on the board feel free to message me and I'll help you out :)

Luckyone as someone else has said if all this 'work' is as stressful as you say then just leave it and use the board for comping :) the amount of 'wrong titles' etc hasn't increased and people have managed to comp and win even when there are a few on the boards for a couple of days :)

just to put it into perspective, over the last 48 hrs you have posted on 3 threads asking the OP to edit the title, even if you add in that in the last 48 hrs you also requested 5 merges and added 16 links to the daily thread I'm struggling to see how that is taking up over 9 hrs of your day?

take a step back and just enjoy the comping :) there's plenty of people on here who will post pointers to newbies, without having multiple illnesses to contend with too :)

    Agree with your comments, Glad.

    Comping should be fun.
Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.

I vote to reintroduce the popular end date tool :) which of course solved the ongoing end date missing issue

Tin hat at the ready :D

I totally understand what you are saying,

But I can't allow myself to think like that for one second. If I had thought like that I would not of achieved all that I have in my life. I am not a victim of my illnesses, they don't define who I am.

I am in spite of my illnesses.

    Thanks,

Yes I know all about the spoon theory & pacing. But how far do you go?. I have tried not coming online & I don't have enough energy to do something else, I am just board then. Being online keeps my brain active, & is a brilliant distraction technique from feeling ill & the pain. It's my life line to the outside world.
