Glad I am not alone :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

All I ask is for some manners, an email to say no without even giving a reason would have sufficed and I could have offered to someone else. Will offer again, but when I know I can be in for collection. Deliberately did it this week and specified when it would need to be collected as I knew I would be around.
I often wonder if they want it for free and to be delivered - I have been asked that before now :eek:

    People can be so rude.
The last time I gave something away on freecycle was a real pain. People saying they want it and can they come at such a time when I had already said on the advert when it has to go by.

Puts me off giving things away really

Just had a phone call fom dd's school and they have her last result A*:j. So Sheffield will have the info on Monday and I can relax. Just got to get the tip she calls a bedroom sorted, so she can decide what to take. I may then be able to clean in there:rotfl:

What a relief and what a great result. Many congrats to DD

Had a busy day today as rain didn't start until late afternoon and then not as much as forecast so just kept gardening, finished ours and then went over and did mum's. Came home feeling tired and then about 5pm started with sore throat and streaming cold :( so an early night for me as just want to curl up on the sofa. Ages since I have felt like this!

    Clyndu - congrats to DD.

SnD - hope you're feeling better tomorrow x

Jam made today still not setting - not happy, and raspberry, white choc and cranberry traybake not up to my usual standards (though OH doesn't seem to think so) sometimes I think I should just stick to savoury cooking, my sweet stuff is never as good.

    hi kerri

if jam not setting it may need more pectin.
juice of one or two lemons and bring to boil again should do the trick.

Thanks MT - I did use a 250ml bottle of pectin which I thought might have been enough? I might try reboiling it.I can only think that the juice should have been 100% pure (not specified in the recipe) and not one that had a water / concentrate mix. Still you live and learn It's actually quite tart which I'm surprised at - had some on toast this morning. It would prob go really nicely with vanilla ice cream as a warm sauce , or on pancakes so it won't go to waste.

Picked two punnets of blackberries earlier from the wayside (forgot how prickly those bushes are, that and the fact they like growing with stinging nettles ), and now my mum has given me some strawberries so going to have plenty of fruit to practice another batch with, and freeze some down for the winter. Thinking of making honeyed plum crumble later - Nigella watch out :rotfl:

Oh, and on the upside, the potatoes I planted seem to be showing signs of growth even though the soil is looking a little furry  Thinking of getting a couple more boxes (they are old council boxes we used to put our recycling in) and next year getting some grow bags from the pound shop, splitting them (can prob use 1 per 2 boxes) and scrounging some seeds to see what I can grow. I think I have been inspired by the wonderful bounties described here :)
