:rotfl: - remember them well.
Talking of remembering things I thought I had run out of Dove+Men shower gel but then I found the rest of my stash in a drawer under the bed. I still have loads of those Heinz 5 Beans tins too and I can't believe I haven't run out of rinse aid yet. How long ago was that! (they were good times).
DD1 has started an apprenticeship today - she decided she wasn't going to Uni as she didn't know what she wanted to do, didn't want mega debt so she applied all over the place and got this one
I actually think in todays job market that Apprenticeships are the better option for youngsters as they get training and paid (OK not alot) and no debt round their necks a massive bonus. It also helps as most will stay with the employer they have done training with so job at end and chance to prove themselves. I am aware there are some dodge apprenticeships and guess need to do research as with anything. I know they then don't get the whole UNI experience which is a shame as think this is when our teenagers do a lot of their growing up as have to be more independant. I think these youngsters are all being pushed by the governement to go to Uni as keeps them off the job market a little longer but with no guarantees of a job when they finish and massive loan debt. My friends daughter has for over 4 years now only been able to get internships since finishing Uni which basically means she works for free with only expenses paid. She tries to make some extra cash throu her art selling locally and managed to sell a design to Gap USA that they used on a t-shirt in America but just isn't regular income. DS's GF has BA & MA yet when she finished she found she got more interviews by not putting her degrees on the application when she got her job at Amazon Offices she has had several promotions and is now one of their trainers and can be sent anywhere across the UK & Europe all by not even mentioning her degrees.
So it is a very tough world out there for youngsters today.0 -
good luck with injections PM, I hope they are successful
AH - how much washing:? are you spring cleaning the whole house?
am so behind on everything in my life that I need to get a grip on reality and start getting organised again.0 -
Well said AH, DD2 will probably have to go the Uni route as she want's to be a teacher but she's only just about to start her A Levels next month so who knows!
DD1's apprenticeship actually sounds pretty good as they start on a lower wage for first 3 months (but higher than official rate) and it keeps going up every 3 months. She's talked to some of the full time employees there and they came in on the same route and like working there (which is a bonus!).
DD1 of a guy at work has just got a place at Uni but she had to stay on another year at 6th form to improve her grades as she didn't get a place last year. She wants to be a vet and the course is at least 5 years - mega debt but potentially a good salary.....If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -

Well done on your blackberry picking. A lot of the supermarkets are selling gardening stuff cheap, might be worth looking. I got a few bags of 40L multi purpose compost from asda on Friday night for 30p each and there was a big pallet of them. I noticed other gardening stuff going cheap as well, so now's the time to buy for next year.
Thanks for the reminder - I'll have a look - thinking grow bags will be nice and easy - I can sit them on bricks in the tubs, and stick holes in the bottom of them to make drainage better.adoreholidays wrote: »Well Done Kerri on all the planting, carry on you will be just like the master jeferey:D:T you will be putting us all to shame:rotfl: and the home baking sounds fab also.

:rotfl: yes, can see how you'd struggle with that one. Perhaps its something they don't give out until the last appt before you start, or that they have to see you do an injection first to check you're doing it right? Keep positive, at least on the upside you're not diabetic and have to do it forever. xxFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
