E-mail address for my company

I'd like to have my own email address for my company. I think it looks more professional than joe-bloggs@sky.com.

How do I get one? Secondly, how do I access/receive my emails?

Many thanks

Errrrm, you need to set up your own internet domain to get the @whatever.com email address, you can then set up the email addresses you require (whatever@whatever.com).

best buy andhave used for 7 years , buy .co.uk domain from 123reg.co.uk and you can redirect mail from your domain email to gmail a/c ideal as you can have many email address ...mail@your domain.co.uk ...I have many for family, nice and short...not mine but example mail@ppp.co.uk redirect to gmail ,ppp@ gmail.com...so if you change gmail you can redirect , also if loaded with spam email ,delete mail@ppp.co.uk and use fresh one. me@ppp.co.uk ,redirect that to gmail......I have 1 or 2 that are used for family messages and attract no spam as they are only to direct family and not email orders ect.
123reg offer a email service ,but search and yuo will find youcan have I think at least 50 redirects for your domain email and free to make up anything ...before your ....@ppp.co.uk

Thank you. I've bought the domain name, so that's the first step done.

So now, how do I receive the emails? Sorry for sounding so dumb :-( I've got a bit confused by the above.

You need a hosting package for the domain that includes mailbox functionality.

What ever you do study all the options - just don't follow the first recommendation you get

I don't know what you bought, you may have bought domain with hosting... But yes, you need hosting as well as the domain itself ...

OK, so now I need to buy hosting for the web address. I probably wont even have a website - or if I do, it will be very basic.

Can anyone recommend either a free or cheap hosting, so that I can have emails forwarded on?

I am so out of my depth here, but apparently I should have about a dozen email addresses so that I can avoid spam and give them to specific people / companies.

If your not going to make a website then you can use email forwarding.

    Anything@yoursite.com to your name@sky.com

You can also have different emails sent to different email addresses.

    accounts@yoursite to @sky

    bobsmith@yoursite to @yahoo.com

    etc etc.
