Dan air, those were the days. Half the plane was smoking. That thick you couldnt see the back. On the return journey everyone had either a Sombrero or a stuffed donkey. Bring back Pontinental.

Ryanair don't fly from Gatwick to Weeze, so that's an incomparable.

Ryanair and easyJet both fly from Gatwick to Seville, in September ryanair are £31 one way easyJet are £58, ryanair's dirt cheap, it's a bargain, that's how they fill their planes.

But it's not that cheap. Whereas before, you get what you pay for worked out as an excuse its too much now.

Blimey, both my mum and dad worked for Dan Air, in fact that's where they met.

Britannia were owned by Thomson, and then were renamed Thomson.

Could you imagine flying by Dan Air today, even back then i think they used jets that were 10 years old, I remember flying with them on a tatty 727.

I know Britannia became Thomson, but Britannia were so much cooler, they had the best colour scheme and design on there aircraft, you really felt you were flying on a high quality airliner when you flew with them.

The first two weeks in October has a demand low and fares for this period can fall low, so keep an eye on their website for when these go on sale. Skyscanner can help to find these.
