Are ryanair still massively popular?

Long gone are the days where people could get a flight from stansted to anywhere for under £20. I think the most i pay for a return ryanair flight "back in the day" was £30 and i thought that was a bargain.
I havent looked on their site for a while.. they dont fly to where i need to go and when they do, it costs more than any other way (eg, i went to see how much flights to eindhoven would be, and they were working out at £80). I used to use ryanair because they were cheaper than the other competitors, and for that, i would take the cattle herding, the people being dissecting my onboard luggage, the rudeness of the stewardesses, etc. But now, they are actually more expensive than easyjet, who are a much nicer airline to fly with, and who also fly to proper international airports as opposed to flying to different destinations than they actually claim to be flying to.
So, as a previous Ryanair fan (believe me, i would shout as loud as Bob the saver about how ace the airline was) and as someone that doesnt know anyone that flys ryanair anymore, its popularity must have waned slightly? Or am i imagining it to be too expensive?

There are plenty of Ryanair bargains still around, expecting £20 fares to be around until the end of time is daft. Allow for inflation, allow for seasonal demand and look at the cost per flight minute flown and see that the fare is still a bargain.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Ryanair are still very cheap compared to most other airlines. Book at the right time flying at the right time and you'll still get a good deal, however at peak times easyJet are often the same price, so it's just personal preference by then.0

I agree with it not being £20 forever, but they are flying out to places that are massively far (ie an easyjet flight flies to dusseldorf international for £60 from Gatwick compared to a ryanair flight on the same day from dusseldorf weeze which is an hour and a half away by bus for £54).. whilst easyjet have bigger carry on allowance as well as heavier too. Im failing to see the appeal of Ryanair and like i said, noone i know even uses it anymore.0

Ryanair don't fly from Gatwick to Weeze, so that's an incomparable.
Ryanair and easyJet both fly from Gatwick to Seville, in September ryanair are £31 one way easyJet are £58, ryanair's dirt cheap, it's a bargain, that's how they fill their planes.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -

RyanAir are ok for short haul flights but any longer than 2 hours and it can be a bit of a wrentch.
Haven't you ever flown with Monarch Airlines?
Sheesh!Normal people worry me.0 -
Even allowing for inflation, you don't seem to get the bargains like you used to.
I remember flying to Dublin for 8p total
I even got a free bus to the airport0 -

That was part of ryanair's headline grabbing publicity.
The fare for gatwick to Seville in sept is £31, the flight time is 160 mins, that's about 19p per every minute of flight time.
The distance is about 1350 miles, with the english channel in the way, that's about 2.3p per mile.
If you do a bit of reasoning, their fares can still be an absolute bargain.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
