The blisters will be and look really red and sore (worse than they have been!!) There may also be a bit of discharge and there maybe a smell. Your LO may also may be also slightly more under the weather than they have been. It can be really difficult to keep them from getting infected, especially those which are near (or even in) their bits nad bobs:eek:

If you are concerne that they are infected you do need to see the doctor for clarification etc etc. In the meantime bathe with cooled boiled water HTH

    Vics xx

I agree with the response above.

Both my daughters have had it over the last 3 weeks.

The youngest was only ill for about a day.

My eldest came down with it the day we were due to fly to Spain, so needless to say, we had to cancel our holiday!

Thank goodness though as she had it VERY bad and was covered, including her mouth and lips. She had a temperature of 104 after the spots came out and had to be put on antibiotics because of an infection.

That would have not been fun in Spain!

On that subject though of having to cancel the holiday, the insurance company are sending a medical form to be signed by the doctor who are charging £44 for the priviliage! Anyone know if this can be claimed back with everything else on the insurance?

This thread made me remember my childhood - I was ill on every foreign holiday we went on, and on Christmas day four years in a row. The fifth year, I was fine, but then choked whilst trying to swallow a whole pickled onion (don't ask - it was my brother's fault!). I also managed to miss every exciting event at school, trips, talks and visits by being ill and was always in the odd position of pretending to be well so I COULD go to school!
