FWIW I had a condensing combi boiler installed in our loft 6 years ago and we've had no problems whatsoever.

It frees up space in the rest of the house (we have a small bathroom and kitchen and didn't really want the boiler in a bedroom), we've never had to check the pressure (although I know in other houses I've lived in this was a problem). The only thing we've had to do, as a precaution, was to fit a smoke/CO2 alarm in the loft just in case. We've had to change the batteries a few times, but that's it!

    Just my experience...

You made a statement with no explanation, hence it was of zero use to anyone. Did you really expect any other response?

No, but at least he had the guts to explain himself, to be honest MrT, something you should have done in the 1st place.

I've thanked those that have stuck with the helpful and factual stuff in this thread, do the same.

Doesn't matter if you agree, there isn't an "I agree " button, which is an issue that MSE simply won't address:mad:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I got quotes for installation of a combi boiler, in the loft, and in the kitchen. I don't recall a great difference in price. I think the loft might be okay if a) there is good access to the loft, and the loft has been boarded out, at least between the access hole and the boiler. The only advantage I can see is that it frees up space. However, mine is in the kitchen, and it takes up the space of one double cupboard (it requires quite a bit of space around it to allow access).

As an aside, it must be a nightmare to get one up there without damaging something or someone. Even putting one on a wall is not easy given the size and weight.

Mega advantage if you only have a small kitchen

I agree with Mr T the loft is the last place to install a boiler
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

I think I communicate my opinions quite clearly, which are experienced based be it the technicalities or the manner of the respondents, :D and conflict does not concern me ;) I'm quite happy in my own skin thanks very much :) If others aren't happy with me not gilding any Lilly, then that's their problem, however as my signature should indicate I WILL respond in kind

I do luv smillies tho :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:poor inoffensive lil fella's do seem to get up the noses of the stiff collar brigade ;)
