Good point but the boiler would be installed with a frost stat.

Building regs are now more involved but nothing that is difficult or expensive.

Yes the boiler would be but that would be triggered by the house temp, or the internal boiler temp, not the temp in the loft.
I was actually thinking in term of frozen water supply pipes, but regardless, I too don't know of any over riding reasons not to put the boiler in the loft if it suits ALL concerned.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

Then it's a rarity, never seen 1 installed in the loft, maybe thats the issue Ted has??

    Loft Installation problems

Access – for install, maintenance and use
Install issues – Boiler location, flue location, safety valve warning pipe location(Warning pipe are supposed to be clearly visible), condense drain location and termination, gas pipework runs, usually additional circuit runs, greater possibility of air locks, additional electrical installation costs, all of which will create extra install costs!
Frost – Additional wiring and install costs, additional running costs(it will run much more than if installed elsewhere in winter), higher quality insulation costs, the possibility of frozen pipes still and the cost of the repairs and damage caused!
Then theres the increased possibility of damage to pipework by users of the loft?

Personally I don’t give a toss about the convenience to me, LMAO I’m RETIRED ;):rotfl:, it would be generally more costly and inconvenient for the occupier, an installer will charge for whatever he is asked to perform, maintenance is also going to be more inconvenient and costly as running up and down from a loft to do system repairs will take longer?;)

:rotfl:Now then Mr Ted doesn’t talk out of his A-R-S-E, he talks from experience, and he certainly doesn’t take exception to anyone that is inexperienced enough to not understand that a loft is the last place to install a boiler after all other options have been explored!:)

Mr Ted, or anyone else for that matter, DON’T ought to respond to anyone, where does it say its compulsory, and neither is he worried about the need to back up any comment, that’s facile, and if anyone is thinking of an install Caveat Emptor eh?;)

To sum up , if you want to put it in the loft , do it .
I did , no regrets , no problems and did it cost me extra ........ gave me more space in the kitchen ........ priceless.

So - carry on and put it in the loft - just because Mr Plumb is put out a little makes no odds - you pays the money, you have what you want.

As everyone except Mr T has said :D

You made a statement with no explanation, hence it was of zero use to anyone. Did you really expect any other response?
