Want to take some bacon in suitcase to go on hold in plane to majorca....is this OK?

Flying to Majorca on Tuesday and want to take some uncooked bacon in sealed packs and put in suitcase to go in hold. Is this allowable and if not will they be able to detect it in my suitcase? Will they open the suitcase and take it out?

Only doing this because you can't get decent bacon in Spain.

Don't know about the bacon thing, but wherever you go in Spain there are always loads and loads of English cafes selling "English Breakfasts". Leave at home and don't worry about such trivia, just go and enjoy your hols.

I have to agree with Davidboy, we are in China at the moment and you can even get a decent western breakfast here now so Majorca should be no problem!!

Heard on the radio just the other day in fact, that meat and dairy products aren't allowed to be brought IN to the UK ... don't know how that works if you plan to take it OUT of the UK

we've always put it into suitcases in plastic boxes for years to Ibiza without any problems and yes English bacon is much better than the spanish and less expensive too

The airline won't give a hoot whether it's in your hold luggage or your hand luggage.

Spanish customs MAY care under food import regulations - I haven't managed to find out if there are any or not. I suspect not.
