T-Mob you say ? £250 ?

EE shop, Orange payg Nokia 920, will accept a T sim ;) Its one of the best phones out there for specs, Windows Phone 8 is the sleekest and fastest operating systems and most secure and the phone is 4G future proof!

Think you still qualify for a free wireless charging plate too ;)

CPW will pricematch it at the EE shop price, saving £120 - just don't tell them your paying with CPW voucher until pricematch agreed, some stores are shoddy about such but if you have problems with such email the chief execs office.

taylorr@cpwplc.com - It was I that got Rodge to address the inconsistency about online, telesales and stores payg uprgrades as it was a horrendous mess, certainly a polite professional CEO in my humble opinion of email exchanges.

Is the Desire X worth £199? Do you think the S3 mini worth the £224 upgrade?

    S3 Mini vs. Desire X?

Well when I was looking for a contract phone, these two where in the to three I wanted. What tossed over to the HTC from the Samsung was the Samsung's plastic build (also not keen on the touch wiz interface).

But aren't CPW phones unlocked? And I'm prefer Android over Windows Phone, partially because it's more versatile.
A WP8 should be generic software from the network at CPW unless the phone is a network exclusive, my WP7 phone was o2 and I had to root it with generic software to use my 3 sim in it for all you can eat data as wifi hotspot was blocked by o2 firmware of the OS.

Generic WP8 are flexible not network 'tweaked' and all the major apps are now available. Only got my current Android handset as was £10 cheaper for the contract, Xperia SP - BLUETOOTH does what it wants, its the naughty child of the family.

Missing WP like hell - its SO intuitive and built around YOU not endless apps and apps. Even the search for a app is 2/3 screen strokes and much faster & easier than a iphone or android.

How about compatibility? On some apps, I do not see that they have a Windows Phone version.

I have skinned my current Samsung Galaxy Music to look like Windows Phone ;)

Also, how about Android. Does it work that way if it is bought from CPW?

Android is for me less secure open platform, its my calling, texting and toy phone for browsing & playing. My Blackberry is only place I would put input personal data and transactions now, as I did with WP7.

If you value your security go WP8 or Blackberry.

Manufacturers tweak Android with their own stuff, my HTC Widfire was customised like hell by 3 and that came from CPW, but that was a few years ago, someone else might have a more up to date experience.

One of the things Microsoft did when it dumped Windows Mobile for Windows Phone operating system was to stop such major changes to the OS from manufacturers or networks as so a fluid movement between WP7 manufacturer/devices was easy. This carried through to WP8.

My Xperia SP was stock rom from EE(4G), not a customised thing in sight.

Again only thing o2 seemed to strip on WP is hotspot and tethering, as prob to not have customers have massive bills and save network capacity, that may have changed in last 3 years ?

Go to a shop and play with WP8, you have the advantage of the WP skin already so you should be well adjusted from the homescreen, the rest of the OS is fantastic, if EE don't replace my SP I think I'm selling it and buying the 920.

Sony X SP has a bad signal in weak signal areas, really bad. Whereas my WP7 HTC Mozart had a weak but very useable signal.

Any CPW not network branded 920 will have tethering, just tell them you want a non branded generic 920.

Out of these two, which would YOU recommend and why?

Neither, 2013 is UK's 4G year & all networks launch by end 2013 and be fighting for custom, example...EE(4G) is unlimited calls and texts with 20GB for £51 a month and that with no 4G competitor - 4G plans are going to be so competitive later this year, and like 3G was (EE4G have not yet) 4G sims can be blocked to use in 4G handsets like 3 done when it launched - why buy anything else not compatible?

Future proof, and highly possible 4G price war - moreso 3 have said 4G will be open to customers on existing price plans, that means 3 payg customers get data a 1p a MB - the 4G pricing war will be great for consumers, buy a 4G compatible mobile and make sure you are not locked out of future pricing and speeds for the next 2+ years ;)
