I'll never be able to write on this diary again without thinking of Bon Jovi :rotfl:It hadn't even crossed my mind.
Went out and met a friend for lunch yesterday - it had been ages since we'd caught up and it was lovely to see her. She used to be a teacher but left the life behind and is much happier for it. I actually do love being a teacher though - it's just the other stuff that gets me down. Not the holidays though...
I don't have much planned for today. I have to hand my work laptop in over the summer so I'm meeting someone after work to give it to him to hand in for me. Still don't want to go there at the moment. I'm going to go in over the holidays as I'm moving classrooms, so that will need to be sorted out before September. Thought it might get me used to being back there as well, without kids and other staff about.
My approved food order should also arrive today, containing a month's worth of cat food and loads of absolute rubbish food to take on holiday next week. Talk about cost cutting. I can't believe I booked to go on holiday the week before payday. And of course money is tight with me being off work - I'm spending more and petrol is costing more.
Thanks to all of you for your kind words about letting my mum get to me. You're so right - 99 good things can happen to you but you always remember the 1 bad one. I feel ok today so must be over it.

A quick update before I go off on my last 30 mile round trip to pick dd up from school, followed by my last ever pick up from nursery... I predict there will be tears at nursery, and they will be mine no doubt. I've used them for 7 years through good and bad, and now my littlest baby is too grown up for nursery. Still, I might miss the staff but I certainly won't miss the £700 a month bill :T
Have been to see the doctor. I'm officially 'on holiday' now rather than sick, although he did say that I wouldn't be well enough for work next week if it were open. He was quite surprised that work haven't been in touch with me - I'm not. He says I'm lots better though - we chatted for a bit and he was talking to me about a life in medicine - not that I could afford another career change at the moment.
Have been spending. DS is at a birthday party tomorrow, so a card and present for that. Plus the toy shop were selling off last year's olympic cuddly toys from £30 down to £1 so I bought one for each of the kids to put away for Christmas. Very :money: I thought. Other than that though, all pennies are being held onto for our holiday next week. Bring it on.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

Hi Wannabee,
How was the last pick up from nursery?
£700 a month is a lot of money not to have to pay out
I hope you have a wonderful holiday and I will look forward to hearing all about it on your return. Lots of time for relaxing I hope!

Hi all,
I've got so much catching up to do on here - it may take some time.
Well, I had a fabulous time away with my friend and our kids. It was so nice to have a break and a bit of time away from the usual routine and day to day rubbish. We managed to do everything reasonably cheaply and I ended up spending less than I thought I would (which was a good job because I got home to a broken toilet that cost £60 to repair). In fact, we both enjoyed it so much that we've booked to go back again next year.
Our most expensive day was at Flamingo Land on Friday, but we all had a lovely day and it was worth every penny. Even better than that, it wasn't too busy so there were no really long queues.
We got back late Friday night, and I've spent the weekend resting and recovering, getting wasing done, getting the plumber out etc. I'm only just starting to feel normal again today.
I dread to think how much weight I've gained - I always eat and drink way too much on holiday. Off to face the music at fat fighters in an hour or so - not much looking forward to that.
Right, I'd better stop waffling and get on and catch up.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Glad you had a good time away, don't worry about the weight gain I'm sure you will lose it again, if you can't let loose on holiday when can you?0

Hi Wannabee,
I am so pleased you had such a wonderful time away. I am feeling the holiday itch so I want to book up a holiday for next year so I can start looking forward to it!
Don't worry about the holiday weight - it'll soon shift...I need to shift a fair few pounds at the moment as I am starting to feel really down about it

Morning all,
Feel as though I'm neglecting my time and friends on here. Trying not to - but hubby is off work at the moment so we're trying to spend some quality time together as a family. He's got another week next week before I do the last 3 weeks of the hols on my own with the kids.
Weigh in was a massive surprise. I'd maintained! That gave me the oomph I needed to keep going with my dieting so fingers crossed for my weigh in Monday.
MSE stuff not going well - but I didn't expect it to when we're all off work. We had dinner out Monday and Thursday - plus I went into work with ds on Tuesday and left his packed lunch on the table so had to buy him stuff. We went to Derwent reservoir for a picnic and a long walk Wednesday, and hit the shops yesterday (thankfully I don't have much school uniform stuff left to buy). We did a massive food shop yesterday (£104!!!!!) and I've said that we're not going to eat out at all next week apart from 1 pub lunch that we have a voucher for.
Today will be a quiet one I think - did the bare minimum of the gardening yesterday so must tackle the house a bit. 1 hour max in the house. Then I have to go to the butchers (my friend) and get the meat for the week - yes that £104 didn't even cover the meat!Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Keep on going WIC and hope the weather is good for you this week. Do take it as easy as you can... as you are still recoveringMFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal
