Hi Wannabee
I am so please you are feeling a little brighterI love the positive vibe in your post.
I hope you have a lovely break away. I am looking to do a couple of weekend camping trips with the girls. Other than the weekends and one bank holiday Monday I only have 2 Fridays off with them. This summer holiday is going to be really hard
I hope you are out enjoying the sun.

Well, the weather is out again
And I'm feeling ok again.
Missed a work night out last night, which sounds as though it was brilliant - 2 people are leaving work at the end of term and it was their leaving do. I was never going with my being on the sick but I've seen a few photos and it looks like a good one.
The school work is done! Made my deadline with a few hours to spare, and really can't see what else they could be pushing onto me in the last week of term. Part of me wishes I was going back next week, so I'm really hoping that come September I will be raring to go. :j
The pep talk I had yesterday inspired me to buy a second hand exercise bike off eBay! He's so motivational my friend Ben - lovely lad. It's only cost a tenner and I'm off out to collect it in an hour. No idea where I'm going to put it - but dd asked me what I'd bought it for and I instantly said that it would be used as a clothes horse no doubt. But we'll see. Ben lost over 9 stone and is one of the most motivated people I have ever met, and he reckons if I work hard I could get results in as little as 20 mins a day. We'll see - got to be worth a try for a tenner, and if not I'll sell it on.

If I remember rightly then you used to have school hols off with the girls didn't you?
It is definitely one of the benefits of being a teacher, although I sometimes need reminding of that when they're driving me up the wall. It's going to be a new experience this year too as ds is leaving nursery Friday - I'm used to him being there during the day - even hols. And he's way higher maintenance than his big sister.
Well I have the big list of 'things to do for cheap or free'... and if the weather holds we should be fine. *crosses all fingers and toes*Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
:DIt was a hot night last night! Must have woken up half a dozen times having the weirdest of weird dreams (about taking the cats for walks on little harnesses).
Woken up this morning and it's quite grey, but still warm outside. I know that we Brits are terrible moaners about the weather - but it's more bearable for me today. I love the sun, but had to stay in yesterday because I just burn so badly when it's very warm. 25 degrees is about my limit.
Went to my mum's yesterday for lunch, and the kids played all afternoon in her garden with water toys and had a real fun time there. All without spending any money
Today I was planning a long walk around a park with a picnic lunch, but I'd better check the weather I think.
Hope everyone is well...Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Well, what a lovely no spend yesterday turned out to be. The sun came out, I packed a picnic and me, dh and kids went out for a long walk around our local country park. We did a mile then the picnic, then another couple of miles, fed the ducks then the kids went to play in the park for a bit. Got dh to stump up for ice cream too - lovely :j
Today is start of last week of term. I'm still off on the sick, but it is also my last chance for time to myself as I'll have both kids from next week. I'm making the most of it by watching all my favourite dvd's, reading and getting out and about on my own while I can. Not that I'd swap the kids for the world, but it's lovely to have time to myself.;)
Planning another no spend today - let's see how that plays out.
Have a good dayNinja Saving Turtle0 -
It doesn't take much to knock me off track...
I was at my mum's Saturday and she asked me if I wanted to go out with her today, and I asked where, and said ok. Anyway, it gets to quarter past nine this morning and I've not heard anything so I text to ask her when we're going out, and she texts back and says that they've already gone. Assumed that I didn't want to go as she hadn't heard from me. I'd already told her I was going?
Not that it's a big deal, because it's really not but I'm running it round and round in my head. Shows I'm still perhaps not as good as I could be in myself. _pale_
Anyway, I bit the bullet and went back to fat fighters last night. Was most dismayed to find that I've put back on most of the weight I lost and am pretty much starting again. Time to get off the downward spiral. I feel better in myself when I'm losing weight. Just got to start doing that. :rotfl:
Went to Sainsbury's and did a little £18.59 shop getting some fresh veg and a couple of new books to read.
I'm still not bored being at home though that's for sure. Still feeling as if I never want to go back to work. Just don't want to think about it at the moment.:oNinja Saving Turtle0 -
Sucks how little things like that can get you down - I'm sure they didn't mean anything by it but I'm the exact same as you and would be taking it really personally.
Glad you're feeling better in general though, don't feel guilty about not wanting to go back to work yet, you've hardly been off and haven't really had a chance to address why you're off - come September you'll be in a much better place to go back

Hi wannabee, I hope that didn't get you down too much - so odd how our minds work, we have a week full of pleasant or ok things and the one occurrence that sticks in our head is the unpleasant one! I'm sure they didn't mean anything by it, my mum is so forgetful that I'd be more surprised if she HAD remembered
Your debt free journey is very inspiring though, and hopefully the summer holidays will be lovely for you!
And I completely empathise about fat fighters, found my WW card from ten years ago whilst cleaning up recently, and boy did that make for depressing reading!! I lost 2 stone but have put on 1 1/2 stone again :eek:Finally debt free!! March 2018 :j0 -
Little things do indeed get you down, but little things make you happy too.
For instance, when i see this diary title in the thread lists it makes me sing bon jovi in my head and that makes me smile
