if you read other threads you will find info.
bypass the big 6!
are you in England?
Yes I think they do have to document proof of your benefits, to see if you qualify, stands to reason.0 -
Can anyone here clarify whether a pensioner couple qualify for free 'green deal' insulation in England. We are buying a house that has had a Green Deal for cavity wall insulation and one source suggests the original owner, as a pensioner, would have got it installed free, so there should be no 'Green Deal' payments.
Is that the case and would we, as pensioners, still get the advantages of it free? We do not receive any benefits but are both in receipt of a state pension each.0 -
So disappointed after the energy assessor from British Gas visited today.
Apparently they need 35sqm of loft space to make it worthwhile and our loft is 10x2.9.
The cavity walls are not eligible either as 2/3rds of the area of them are not cavities, even though 3 out of 4 walls are cavity walls!
British Gas are the only firm I could find offering free insulation (unless on benefits). Does anyone know of any other firms?0 -

Depends what scheme you are doing it under. Just give some local firms a call - http://www.ciga.co.uk/registered-installers/0 -
Anyone else still waiting for the £50 voucher from British Gas following the free insulation deal? Had mine done a couple of months ago but no sign. Not entirely sure what department at British Gas would deal with this either!
Thanks in advance.0 -

Hi
My mother-in-law had a company called Warmlife Energy Services knock on her door and offer her free loft & cavity wall insulation. They have filled out an order form for her and have put the total fee as "Free" - I have checked the form and there is no "small print" but I am very sceptical of cold callers - surely nothing is done for free? Has anyone had similar experiences or is there a loophole that we're not aware of - perhaps they obtain the money from one of the energy providers on her behalf? Any advice would be welcome.0 -
I haven't had my compliments card from british gas yet. Has anyone received there's?0
