I accept Paypal, Credit cards over the phone, Cheques, Postal orders, or cash on delivery. I just noticed that there is a box to tick if you accept Escrow, but I don't know anything about it, is it secure?0 -

Hi Chatty, hope you were able to sort out the helpful from the unhelpful posts in this thread, and I'm sorry my comment re western union allowed the opportunity for the thread to degenerate.
Soolin & Frivoulous Fay et all are correct, Western Union is not allowed on ebay and is very risky as a buyer. But as a seller, it provides cash in your hand, so is very safe.
As greenstreetprince pointed out there are safer & allowed ways to sell phones on ebay. Don't let the irrelevant posts put you off selling, just use your common sense. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

whats safe for a seller may not be safe for a buyer, and there is a reason for western union and other such services being banned from ebay, the solution?
bank transfer, cheque or paypal.
a certain member may disagree * ahem*, but if you follow the guidelines paypal set out, you should be OK.0 -
If you sell using Paypal, then follow the rules for their seller protection policy:
https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/cps/securitycenter/sell/SellerPPOverview
but read all the small print. Paypal may be expensive, and slow when you transfer money to your bank account, but you are protected against fraud.
If like myself you sell large quantities, and deliver using your own transport, then consider getting a credit card merchant account so that you can take payments over the phone.
The most secure way is obviously cash on delivery.0
