HELP < POSS TROJAN

    Hi Thanks.I just checked as you suggested and it just says "connected firewalled broadband"

    It seems that since i have had this trojan my bt has really been crap i had no probs before.

    Stupid question but How do i know stinger found and removed and how do io stop it reinfecting.I have firewall and av and e mail virus check as well./

    I just ran the ad aware you suggested.It found several files and i deleted them.How will i know they are gone and how do i stop them returning? As i said i have firewall and BT av and also EZ Anti Virus.

  • Thanks for taking the time to post tonite.I have to decide now whether to put Norton on this computer i have had it a while and didnt use it as i had BT av what would you do ?I have avg and bt av is norton better?

  • I notice that BT auto checks e mails as i had a few last year which BT refused to open and i deleted them.i am still wondering how the hell this one got in.Anyway many thaks for your kind help it just goes to show how good this place is ,helping each other.

    Its me again.

    I ran stinger and AVG last night ,I switched on this morning and virus is still there the Black Ice.I ran stinger again and watched it (for ages ) and it spent ages going through the blackice and then a load of files similar to this :123-788-435-.text

    I also saw this file come up but when i search for it it cannot be found.

    C:\ProgrammeFiles\ISS\BlackICE\hosts\**

    I really am now stuck do i need to dump everything and start agian with a clean pc or ??

    I take it all this was run with system restore off and in safe mode ??


    otherwise it may come back from the restore points

  • Hi again.Right i have located the trojan and the Black ice files.They are in a folder in my programme files.I tried to delete the file but it says i cannot delete as the file is in use.Does anyone have any idea how i can remove this file ?

  • Thanks again.I just tried that and am getting cannot delete ac_base.dll: Access is denied

    Its there but nothing will remove it not avg or stinger or ad aware help!!!!

  • Hi I ran ad aware and done as you said.It found nothing which i thought was great and it was sussed but when i checked in prog files the iss file is still there.It has sub files such as attack list host list etc,when i delete them they dissappear but within seconds appear back there.I will try the restart f8 thingy and avg.
