You sound the same as me with regard to paying off OH's debts. Most of our debts are joint (things for the house or kids, general living expenses when our icome has been low) and have been juggled about so much now theres no way of telling what came from whos credit card. But he has 1k of debt from before we met which he never did anything about, which I rather resent paying off with our money. It feels like me making all the sacrifices - I already closed two dormant buidling soc accounts from when I was a teen, and used the proceeds, Id like to say it was to pay off debts but really it was just living expenses. Anyway you're not alone. I console myself with the fact that he does provide the majority of our income and its not as if he has an easy life spending money as he pleases.

I thought about setting up an instant access savings account to put a bit by each month. I noticed the icesave is over 6% interest which as you only have loans is probably comparable to the rate your paying in interest. And you often dont have much flexibility in terms of overpaying. Anyway I figured that what I want from a savings account, is exactly what I already do with my other OD, i.e. put spare cash in it when I can, and take it out when the going gets tough. And as the OD is the same interest rate as the most expensive debt, it doesnt matter which it goes against.

Well done with your ebaying mission. I find its the descriptions and pics that take up so much time and its that reason that I CBA with it anymore.

had to chuckle at your OH's sig (the nagging part). I also had a partial LBM when I signed up here in June, posted once, then buried my head in the sand for 6 more months before my real 'actively doing something about it' LBM. oops.

...... but at least u have finally had ur LBM, OH is still waiting for his!
Unfortunately I had to make the sig myself... he still hasn't got rounds to posting yet.... TBH I think part of the reason is that despite all my nagging, he knows I'm right about what I say! And he'd be embarrassed to come here and admit it....
It is nice to know that I'm not the only one with a pain in the @r$£ OH - there are quite a few of us here! It does get me down sometimes that I'm the one trying to balance everything and earn more money, and he just gets his pocket money without any real responsibilty.
Ther is no scope for overpayment on my loan, so it doesn't make much difference whether I do or not.... part of me would quite like to keep the Olypmic Challenge money for myself! Esp as I'm the one doing all the work
