So anyway

check out these two pretty pictures

the first one is house prices in Britain the second in America

Theres a remarkable similarity but the second one seems to have some more on the right hand side.....

that sorta looks like the first hill on Blackpools big one :)

    ...and neither the BofE nor the fed (in my opinion) are done raising rates. i know it might sound odd me thinking the fed raising rates, but i think the markets are underestimating just how strong inflation actually is. mind you, wall street doesn't seem worried, does it; this market is on steroids at the moment...hope everyone is enjoying the weather :)

    Are you sure? The way I read the USA graph's headings is that those figures are annual percentage increases/(decreases), not prices.

    That is, it shows a slow down of growth and then a reduction in house prices of about 1-2%pa to Q1 2007.

    That's right, but I think the trend is important thing to look at?

    Indeed. Also, affordability and demand are not really represented. It would be nice to compare the same thing (the same index), or prices from two different lenders (one US, one UK), also salary information, immigration stats, and so on for the same period.

    No i stumbled across it and just spotted how similar they are well apart from the good bit at the end.

    Ive ridden coaters in many countries on 3 different continents and belive me a big @ssed drop is one of the best things know to mankind:rotfl:
