No she has a tooth missing; which I think is the norm for the unemployed/great unwashed these days isn't it?

Not wishing to defend her too much but it could just be the norm for those that can't afford expensive dental treatment (over and above what's covered by the NHS.) I had a tooth removed recently (thankfully at the side!) and I'll be hard pushed to pay for a bridge any time soon.
    Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

On the subject of big families on long-term benefits, a friend's sister is another with multiple kids from multiple dads in two houses knocked into one. In addition to her generous benefits as one of her son's has a disability she also gets given a car which is renewed every 2 years

At least the shocking pink hair has gone now; she's gone back brown I think. Guess the pink was too identfiable in the playground...

I think she has more than one tooth missing. If you look at the Daybreak interview on here there is only one tooth visible in the top part of her mouth. She seems to have some teeth down the bottom. Makes you wonder what the children's dental hygiene is like..

Its hard to lose your front teeth if you brush them. I have gum disease and I still have all my teeth apart from a couple at the back which were removed to help my gum health.

To be fair I only see her in passing by; I shudder, shake my head and go on my way. Her kids look ok turned out but again I don't get too close to find out. Actually until this story broke earlier this year I had no idea she had 11 kids so was gobsmacked; but then again I don't live that near to her to know too much thank god.

I have a 'dying' front tooth from multiple knocks to it (first time was my mother opening a door into it, then riding accidents mainly ) its just going beyond looking normal and the patching up of the bottom bits of it with fake patches are lasting less and less time, so I will be losing (but hopefully replacing it some time in the future). Bearing in mind I've knocked this so many times I wonder if its so rare to suffer injury leading to loss ...

When it's something which shows like that - me, I wouldn't want to show myself in public. It's a question of self-respect, of how you want to present yourself in public, self-image, those kind of things. Better not to go to the hairdresser so often but go and get something done about your teeth!

While part of me wants to agree I wouldn't want to be heard in public being pointedly personal about people's appearance much either.

I am the last person In the world to complain about people being judgemental, I think perhaps we are sometimes not judgemental enough, but there is judgemental about things that might matter (the upbringing of children, the impact on neighbours etc) and then the person's teeth. Perhaps, its. Scale of importance...teeth of someone might sadden me a little, but I'd rather they were self provident, competent parents and respected my their community than just 'have nice teeth'.

If the conversation is getting onto teeth I have just have to comment.

My partner brushes his teeth and has excellent oral health but has lost so many due to apprently having weak enamel which has caused damage to all his teeth. He spends a fortune on his teeth (£600 in the last few months due to an infection)

Although most people who may loose teeth may have poor oral health some don't.

My gran wore false teeth due to the after effects of having scarlet fever as a child. She didnt choose to be unwell. I also know people who are on medication that makes their teeth week and prone to loss. I appreciate the points people are making about tooth loss, but sometimes people are not to blame for losing their own teeth and sometimes parents are responsible for kids not having perfect teeth either.

I think criticising people for tooth loss is a bit much. Numerous people in the public eye have less than perfect teeth, some spending ridiculous amounts on veneers because their teeth were a bit wonky.
