I don't know, turn me back for 5 minutes and when I get back, it's all changed ...
Anyway, good morning. Sorry I've been absent. Had quite a lot to do - far too much - before going on holiday, including getting a magazine in production and getting my cats from Yorkshire to Birmingham fo them to stay with my parents. Then I had to come home a day early, when I would've liked the extra time with my parents on the way back, because they'd booked a meeting I simply had to be at ... allegedly. Got back home late Wednesday, back at work Thursday and in a strop for 2 whole days.
Today I'm back to normal. Had a bit of a lie in. Already hung one load of washing out, another in. I'm hoping I can do the change over when I get back from shopping. Have to do a shopping list and clear the washing up before going - I have vouchers to use. Then tonight I have a rock gig to attend and review. Phew.
Have good rest of days, everyone. Hugs to all.spendy/she/her ***DEBT-FREE DATE: 11 NOVEMBER 2022!*** Highest debt: £35k (2006) MY WINS: £3,541 CASH; £149 Specsavers voucher; free eye test; goody bag from Scottish Book Trust; tickets to Grand Designs Live; 2-year access to Feel Amazing App (worth £100); Home Improvement & Renovation Show tickets; £50 to spend on chocolate; Harlem Globetrotters tickets; Jesus Christ Superstar tickets + 2 t-shirts; Guardians of the Galaxy goody bag; Birmingham City v Barnsley FC tickets; Marillion tickets; Dancing on Ice tickets; Barnsley FC v Millwall tickets0 -
Good afternoon all...........
Was woken at 9am by OH with my breakfast.........boy he must be feeling better..........
I stripped the bed and put them into the laundry then we toddled off to the allotment, OH sat whilst I put in the remains of the brassicas, the blooming pigeons have had a great time with the brassicas we pu in last week out of 15 plants we have just 1 left, inspite of them being netted b***** birds.
The garlic was showing signs of rust so I have dug them and left them on the path to dry off, will have to have a little look in my book..........
Just got back, phew it was hot up there.....nice cold drink, oroange for him elderflower for me.........I picked a load of elderflower to make another batch of cordial.........
Lovely day, OH is now wrestling with one of the jigsaws I got the other day St Pauls.....he says he thinks there are some bits missing....oh well we will see.
Better go down to the laundry and see if the sheets are dry, then I can fold them ready to iron. Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Hi All
Busy day yesterday - monthly staff meeting, quick lunch-time shop and a busy afternoon at work. However, all very worthwhile when two darling little boys ran up the path to greet me when I got home. DD had dropped them off with DH earlier in the afternoon - they are staying tonight too.
Today took the boys to Vogrie Country Park near Dalkeith where we had a picnic and all they wanted to do was play on the swings etc - fine by me. Really good value for just £1 parking fee. We had to go via Tescos though as DD didn't think weather would be so good - she had packed quite heavy clothes. So I had to buy shorts and sunhats. Handy to have here anyway. Have jammies, nappies spare pants and socks etc but these things won't go wrong.
Kyle - glad to hear you mouth is starting to ease off. Nothing worse than a sore mouth.
Ppincher - hope you are OK.
Catowen - was so sorry to hear about your friend's trouble. Glad you have been of help with her DD.
Cchick - so sorry you seem to be a bit under the weather. Your panic attacks must be awful.
dlb - hope the presentation goes well. Don't you dare worry about other folks reactions to DS's award. From what you have been telling us, he is a cracking and dedicated wee player.
Love and hugs to all the rest of you. Don't know if I will manage to post again today as my darling wee men take a fair bit of time (but of course I love it!)

PS I actually like the new site. I think it is brighter generally!
Murtle - of course go can come back anytime, I have spells where it is not easy but my dear friends are always here. Post when you can as you are always welcome.
Re Lemon curd - my Mum makes the best but not sure of how she does it. Do know lots of lemons involved! If anyone wants recipe will ask her for it.
Well, an interesting night. DGS2 totally sparked out at 4.30 - we just could not rouse him. He is now in jammies, no tea, milk or anything and in bed! When am I getting up tomorrow morning? Bless, he only had about 10 mins in the car today and he is still used to at least an hour's sleep at lunch time. DGS1 looking very tired but watching Dr Who with Grandad. GB curtailing her red wine as it could be a long night - roll on tomorrow!
Hope you are all fine

Re Lemon Curd
I am almost sure my Mum doesn't use the whites of the eggs but will check tomorrow. Too late to phone her tonight!

Ppincher - we were miles away from DD in teens, thought closer to DS. Tables turned - she is the best friend I could have now she is 26! DS rather more distant than I would like. Hang in there babe, a few years to go! The grounding still counts when they come out of their hormone years!!! I was a pure b@@@@ in the teenage years and now 56 and still remember.

Today I have made a creamy vegetable and nut curry, chicken biriani and some lush scones. Feeling very virtuous today.
Is anyone making anything interesting they want to share? (the menu, not the actual food!)A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.

Hi Myrtle,
I've added your thread into the daily thread which is the best place to post chatty posts.
Also if you have a look as last week's menu planner thread you'll see what everyone else is cooking this weekend.
Yesterday I managed to pick up 20 reduced priced organic lemons so today I've made homemade lemonade and lots of lemon curd. The thought of your biriani is making me hungry!

Crazychik hope you find the money and feel better soon, panic attacks aren't nice at all.
Veg and nut curry sounds lovely, as does chicken biriani, have you got a recipe ?
I had a peppercorn quorn fillet, did some rice with it which I cooked with some brocolli and red pepper that needed using up, was lovely actually, I enjoy stuff like that which is just thrown together with what is left. Kids and DP had HM burgers etc as they don't like it.
Had some yoghurts which needed using, kids were bored of them and wouldn't have them, so threw them in the blender with milk (also needed using up) for milkshake which they are gulping down.
Wow Pink HM lemon curd, something I've never even attempted and just get from the farm shop, bet it's lovely, is it easy to make ?One day I might be more organised...........

Well today has gone quite well:D ....well I havent killed DD, so not a bad day;) She had invited 2 friends round to watch a film and have some pizza as she helped out loads today and thought we would reward her...thanks Queenie! ATM they are up the shop and walking to the park for half an hour...so its pretty quiet here.
1 load of washing has been dried, folded and put away, the floors have been swept and moped downstairs, toilet cleaned, curtains up in DD's room, garden watered and spuds, fireplace cleaned down thoroughly with gridle off, the garden mowed and car cleaned:D ...pleased with all that!
Think I may make some muffins tomorrow for DD school this week and almost forgot that OH has the second hand school shop on Tuesday. This is good as DD needs another skirt, PE polo-shirt and a couple more blouses in her size.
Although DD gets a free school dinner, she is getting quite hungry and takes fruit in with her ATM. Her lunch at school is normally a baked spud with beans/cheese, pasta with tuna and salad, the roast on a thursday and she has the fish and chips on a Friday:rolleyes: along with this she gets a smoothie and sometimes a cookie. I thought if I baked muffins, she could take one of these and see if that fills the gap...she is quite tall at 5 foot 5 (shes 12) and is a size 6-7 foot and is a slim size 10 ladies size, so shes not overweight. She does 2 after school activities and 4 through her lunch breaks so is very active.
Got to go, hugs to all.
