Sorry you're having a rough morning. On the "punishment" front ... if you think back to the days when you have xxx employee's, you'll remember than "incentives, rewards and bonus'" worked wonders to 'motivate, inspire' ;) On that basis (and managerial buzzwording  ), parent with a similar philosophy. :D

Rather than taking things *away* for things she *doesn't* do, establish a system whereby she is rewarded for the things she *does* do. For example, if she is permitted to watch DC anytime she fancies then of course she won't appreciate or value it. Sooooo, sit down with your OH, work out what your DD would value, feel motivated by. Then be clear about what you expect of her. When she meets those expectations she will be given her priviledges. Maybe that's one hour of DC in the evening? Who knows, that's up to you to decide. The core for success is consistency on your part ;) One other thing, if you don't establish something firm but fair now ... in another 2 yrs, you'll stand no chance!

    Hi Queenie

Thanks for that info:D ....I am literally at the end of my tether. I understand it must be difficult for her with me being ill and alot having to be fit around me, but I do try...honestly:o

Your info is sooooo true! We did have this in place when she was younger and did work well, just didnt really think about this for her age now:confused: ....any further pointers? She is actually not allowed to watch TV at all from Monday-Thursday, so maybe we could work with this, and if she has been good and completed stuff, then maybe we could [STRIKE]bribe her[/STRIKE] work with this and allow her 1 episode of Suite Life or Raven:confused: ...about 25 mins I think.

Also, just had a call from my mate and she was offered the full amount on her bank charges this morning £2100:eek:    ...happy for them. She is preggers but so dreadly carp with money....she has already worked out what she is buying with it and will not be paying any debt with it:mad: ....some people will never learn:o

    Hugs

Shez, any time I have watched "Who do you think you are" they have used a genealogist to help trace the family history, as they know the quickest ways to unearth the information. Don't know how you would get into it as a career though - hmmm, may just google that right now.

Found this - http://www.sog.org.uk/leaflets/career.pdf Not sure if this will work as a link but at least you have the website address.

    Morning All

Enjoy your new car Queenie but dont forget Air con uses more fuel ;) .

PP sorry your not feeling so good, as someone who had a ill mum in her teenage years I know how it can cause tension ontop of other growing up issues. Just keep to your bounderies and it will all turn out fine in the end. Does your DD have someone independent of your immediate family to talk to that really helped myself and my sis.

Having a good day today. DD is now offically potty trained in the day time and I think that we are well on the way to night time as well :j , it all just clicked last weekend. Because I've somehow lost my OS motivation we are in a dreadful mess with our money. Really need to talk to DH about some help to keep things in check, at the moment is all me and if I fall off the wagon when it all falls apart .

So far this morning I have done 2 loads of washing and made a fairy wand out of carboard, silver foil and a stick off a old toy mop very OS. Later on we need to go and see my dad and dd has been promised a trip to the park. Its a lovely sunny day so we will get dd to run off some energy. Its our nephews First Holy Communion tommorrow so I need to get our clothes ready and work out how were going to pay for the meal out afterwards :o

The thing is, we really do have a good relationship and she talks to me about everything. Its probably hormonal but I dont want her to get worse. There is no one in either family who I would trust her. She has just come and given me a hug and kiss and apologised for being rude to me this morning as I started crying and I think it shocked her as I dont normally do crying:o

Thanks for all the advice guys...we will get there. Maybe some sticky tape and handcuffs would do the trick:D

    Good morning All

Hope we are well, didnt get the chance to post again yesterday!
After work I had my hair done, then went to fetch something from freecycle.
Then happened to call in the pub for a swift half! Certainly made an enjoyable change.

OH & DS has just taken Charlie to the vets to get his next lot of jabs done. We had trouble getting him into the carrier. We literally had to drop him in! Bless him!

OH got to take his car to the garage for the exhaust to be looked at!
Might take DD into town and buy her a party/casual dress, as she's at a party this afternoon and then we've got to go to Cheshire tomorrow for OH's grandparents 60th wedding anniversary celebrations.

Plus inbetween all of this, we have got the usual shoppin/housework to get done!

Had another panic attack this morning, so feeling a little drained now!

DD just decided to tip sugar all over the floor!

dlb hope the presentation goes well tonight! Have a few drinks (as you do) and go with the flow! Im sure you'll find something suitable to wear. How do you think Ive been coping with this huge boil on the side of my face! At least you can cover your's up, mine's in view of everyone and embarrassing!

    annibooklover hope your back improves.

hugs to shez & catzine and of course anyone else who needs them

queenie hope DS toe improves! It was an accident so try not to fret over it!

Right must make a start, got loads of washing to start and get through, and try and get my head together!

    Have a great wk end
    Take care
    love Emma xxx

    Good morning everyone.
Well, its loively outside today, so I'm finishing watching a film I got out last night, then I'll do some washing for mum and hang it on the line. Then, I'll sit outside with my new book for an hour and just relax! Then i'm going to practise the piano for about 3 hours.. :)
    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, hope everyones well, hugs to those who would like/need one.

Fizzel hope the 'dinner' goes well, PP aren't hormones fab! hope she settles down soon but I do remember being a horrible teen myself :o , dlb hope the presentation goes well, kyle let us know what the film is like as we're on about going to see it, oh and hands up another one who doesn't like the new colours too harsh on my eyes.

Just having a little wake up time before I really crack on with things, morning 'duties' done apart from waking DP up, kids in and out of the garden as usual (lovely weather here too, so far) lizards going crackers so have checked his tank and everything seems to be ok in there, shame it isn't a bit warmer or I'd have let him out in the garden, he likes sunbathing.

Right, going to go make a list of what I need to get done, starting to get withdrawls of not being to a shop for days, must resist!
One day I might be more organised...........
