A very costly 0% expiry date error!

There's no being "Sucked in" at all; interest is a rarely-avoided fact of credit and one clearly advertised on all and any credit related products.
All the credit card adverts I see advertise the standard APR in bigger letters than anything else...
You misunderstand me - people often set these interest free cards up either to clear other debts or to make a one off purchase that they will then use other money to clear - except they quite like not having to cut back elsewhere to clear that debt and so they get "sucked in" to remaining in debt. Its not about the company conning anyone - its often about either a lack of discipline or a change of circumstances which leaves the punter exactly where the card issuer wants them.Adventure before Dementia!0 -
I've just today realised that what I thought was a 0% interest rate expiry date of 24 July 2013 was in fact 2012!
To my horror and immense frustration, today I have gone back through my statements on line covering the past 12 months and found that Tesco has been merrily charging me £80+ every month on what I had always believed was an interest free card!
Is there anything I can do to get these charges back? Anything?
I am so disgusted with myself for just giving my family's money away and the bank happily bleeding me dry and making no real effort to alert me to what was clearly an 'error / oversight' on my part! I have not used the card once in the period I have had it!:mad::mad:
If you are not a troll then you are financially inept.
To get it wrong by a month is understandable but a year? No.
To get it wrong by 12 months and never check a statement in that time means you are right to be disgusted with yourself.
Did you never click that the minimum payment always went up and not down?0 -

Give it another 12 months then you will have even more that you can try and claim back...

Not just the cc statements, but the OP also failed to notice that his min payments (by direct debit i assume) had suddenly tripled - £80 interest now would be approx £6500 original balance i think0

My justification for this decision is that if you look at his/her profile, OP is a banker

Are you sure it was banker and not starting with w?

Don't worry. It's always the same small group of people that do this on this board... they probably all work in banks or something.
Although, you can't really blame anyone but yourself for forgetting!Oh, you wee bazza!0
