i could do the upstairs ones myself tbh by leaning out the only one i couldnt do is the landing as it doesnt open. This was the one he left with seagull mess on today.
Surely there are other window cleaners in your area? Why not try someone new?

The water fed poles are expensive if you are using the proper ones not the ones they sell in sops for a tenner. Window cleaners are 10 a penny, either wait until you see one in your street or when you go out and about and ask one of them

£10 every month to a traditional window cleaner with a proper ladder! That's for cleaning two doors, a large patio door and 9 windows, including all the sills.

He leaves a small note if i'm not in and doesn't badger me for the money.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion!

We pay £3 for 3 windows and a small window in our front door. (Windows are standard Victorian house)

But it is old fashioned with bucket and ladders, but i never see him drying them. He could but not seen him with a towel when he has been doing them.

He has been 3 times and comes every 6 weeks so may need to catch him and see his method. They look ok but the last 2 was raining.
  • I'm in the SE, for 10 large windows, 2 small and large french doors and the double garage I was being charged £25. He just put it up to £28 without warning me, so getting rid.
Asked a friend from across town, hers charges £10 for similar sized house.

I've got one of those cheap extendable wash poles, didn't buy it for window cleaning, however you do get reasonable results. You wash using window cleaning detergent, i think mine came from screwfix, and then rinse using the pole and squeegy. Takes about half an hour to do the hole house and it's done as and when I need/want it. Also fairly good results on gutter cleaning too! We never had a window cleaner as there wasn't one around when I first needed one so this is the route we have gone down. The old house was £10 for the house and conservatory.
Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!

Just get rid of him. Never pay anyone who does not do the job properly.Plenty of good window cleaners about who want work. Why not start a compare website for windowcleaners !!!

Stop messing about and get shut.
  • Hi, we have a small two-up two-down cottage. I normaly clean windows myself, but with the summer here I responded to a note through the door and asked a local guy to come and do them.
He has now given me a bill for six visits to clean them, evne though I have only asked him to do them once! Not repeatedly.

Am I obliged to pay him, even though I requested a one-off service not repeated?
It's only £6 per visit, but I would never have asked him to come so often for such a small job...
