Cost of window cleaner ?

Hi
We have a window cleaner he is a local man and knows hubbie he does alot of windows in our area. As it is a 2nd job you get it done when he wants to do it and can fit it in. However

During the winter months you see him regularly every month come rain or shine mostly raining so after he has cleaned them it doesnt look much different after a day due to winter months weather. So we are in the summer now and I said to DH only last week where is the unreliable window cleaner the windows were a mess and we needed them done he hasnt been for over 4 months I know cause i always pay him. Anyway i went out earlier was only gone 20 mins came back and note through letterbox to say he had been. I knew one window had terrible birds mess on so i checked it and guess what still covered in mess. All other windows looked ok. So i looked out for him and found him and told him about the dirty window, he got quite defensive and said well show me where it is i cannot see it so i went inside and pointed to it on the window there were about 6 messes on window which he had to scrape slightly prob seagull mess as i get alot of them about.

Anyone 2 hours later he comes for the money and then says do you want the bad news it is gonna be £10 next time (increased from £8).

So now I am wondering whether we just give him the boot ! it is a 3 bed semi with 7 windows and french doors and front door. Just wondering what everyone else pays please and how often he comes. Sorry for the rather long thread :p

I pay £5.50 for a wc with water fed pole to do top windows only 6 windows in all. I do downstairs myself with bucket of warm water or wc spray and Karcher vacuum thing. Around my area there are loads of wc most use poles now, windows dont need drying as water is filtered

My window cleaner was exactly the same, it was uncanny how he always managed to "wash" the windows when he know no one was in.

I also used his (second in a year) price increase as an excuse to stop his services. Far easier to just clean them ourselves when needed.

I sacked ours when he claimed to have been when the extension was being built, there was a skip infront of house so he couldnt have got to top windows and the whole of the back of the house (and windows) was removed yet he washed the windows and billed us for it.

We pay £10 and they come roughly every month, using long poles and filtered water. They clean 3 sets of patio doors (4 panes each), 2 velux windows, 1 bay window, 1 front door, 1 back door, 7 double windows, 2 triple windows and 1 single window.

Can always tell when they've been - the birds start flying into the upstairs windows!

Unless you are going to use filtered water, don't bother

how come what is this with filtered water please

The filter takes out all the stuff that causes watermarks. Hence no need to dry the windows because the water doesn't streak.

I have a Flash system for washing cars that has a cartridge filter in it so that the cars dry streak free.

    Normal water will streak.
