A port should NOT take 5 days!
NEXT WORKING DAY is Ofcom opinion on the matter.
So give the PAC to the new network Mon - Thurs(AM), Friday gets messy with weekend not being working days.
http://ask.ofcom.org.uk/help/telephone/changing_mobile_providerSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

Well it's taken Vodafone 7 days for my porting to complete (still hasn't been completed yet, got a text saying it should be done by tomorrow 4pm). The fact that it's taken so long is beyond cheeky, and I'm thinking as soon as my number ports, I will ring up and request a PAC code.
Is that possible?0 -

Yes and make a complaint to Ofcom about the time Vodafone took, their guidelines do not say 7 days.
Tell Vodafone that's why you are porting out, because that's a standard joining as NEW you do not trust them to provide anything beyond a poor standard thereon in so your leaving.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... How do you even know the problem lies with Vodafone? From experience the fault is equally possible to have been on the donor network.
Perhaps a slightly more sensible option would be to chase up WHY it happened and ask for some compensation for the inconvenience.
If the port problems were a network failure, at least then the complaint will be about the correct network.====0 -

Even if it was the incoming provider (Voda) is responsible for the smooth operation and chasing (outgoing provider)3, it is Voda at fault regardless which network messes up Vodafone via regulation is in charge of resolving any issue/s and porting across the next working day (or two) where a fault occurs, because Voda are in receipt of/and actioning the PAC. 3 are only liable to provide the PAC directly to the consumer, after Voda has a PAC it is Voda who deal directly with 3 and the consumer & any issues. 7 days...
And again what 3rd party does Voda have doing this PAC provisioning that cares not for its regulators guidance and rulings.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... I suggest getting a giffgaff SIM. Port your number to that and port back out.
I'm not sure if it is possible to keep the SIM active after that process so you might loose your first £10 activation top up in the process.0 -

Hi jimmysayhey,
I'm sorry to see this. It's rare that a number transfer should take this long.
If you'd like me to get things looked into could you email me with your details via the link in our profile here?
All you need to do is copy and paste the link into your web browser and it'll take you to the Contact us form on our website. To make sure it reaches me could you also quote the code WRT135 - MSE in the subject line?
Once sent you'll receive an automated reply with a reference number. Could you update the thread with this and I'll get back to you as soon as possible?
Kind regards,
Lee

Its quite standard actually Lee, Voda messing up ports in and out and taking longer than the next working day, did Voda UK send the PAC team to 3Global Services who do 3 customer care in India after Vodafone and 3AU merged and sent Vodafone AU BUSINESS care there, or is it a third party or are UK PAC/provisions team just inept ? Please pass my feedback on to CEO of Vodafone UK, or are the MSE Voda reps third party too ? (they are but dont hold your breath for a admission people!)SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... Hi diamonds,
Just to prevent any confusion, I can confirm that myself and the rest of the team are all part Vodafone UK and not employed via a third party.
In regard to your concerns about the porting process we naturally want all transfers to take place as smoothly as possible.
Hopefully the OP's difficulties have been resolved but if they haven't my offer of help remains open.
Kind regards,
Lee
