A bit like the so called quality Tefal, that only lasted 14 months and was no doubt made in China..
Just get another kettle .. sorted.;)0 -

It's getting to the stage where all you can buy is cheap throwaway junk...
Or for the opposite point of view on the economic benefits of chinese production...(post 5 by Dave Booker in a thread about strimmers) ...

Keep hold of the receipt.
Leave it about a week, then you can take back the faulty one
(or do I mean the new one !!!)
Thats actually fraud. I wouldnt recommend anyone does this.Stevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -

Powerhouse ceased trading last year. Anything I can find online, states to take faulty good to the retailer for refund / replacement etc.
The kettle came with a leaflet, stating that Tefal guarantee it for 12 months from purchase.
Do I have any legal (or other) rights to to refund, repair or replacement, given that it broken only 7 weeks outside the guarantee period?

Richard
I would just speak to Tefal and state as someone else did that you are unhappy that it has lasted only 14 months. They may send a new one free or offer a discount, say 50% (25 % is pretty poor).
I sent a Roberts radio back to the manufacturer and they repaired it. I am pretty sure thats over 1 year old, but has only been used for 2 weeks in that time as it has been stored in its box until recently.Stevie Coppell's record breaking blue and white royal army - championship winners 2005-60 -

Don't we all, but it isnt going to happen! As proven with the case of this Tefal kettle, just because it is more expensive, doesnt mean it is better. Likewise a cheaper price doesnt mean inferior quality, e.g. mass production Japanese cars compared to many American/British manufacturers...0 -
