Joining the Santander123 Complaints Club!!

I was feeling left out but I think I qualify to join the above club now ;)

1st month of salary going into 123 account.

Done.

Set up transfer to move some money into another account, just do £1.00 to check I have done it right.

Money pinged into the correct account instantly.

Done and a big :T

So I transer £500 into the same account.....

And wait.....and wait and.....

True, it HAS left the 123 account.

But it hasnt arrived anywhere.

Does this make me Sad & Sulky Santander-er???

;)

When did you do the transfer? How long have you waited? As has been said many times on this forum, it doesn't have to be there until the end of the second working day.

That "123 complaints club" fozziebeartoo has joined so far consists of exactly one member - fozziebeartoo. Who doesn't even know whether the "problem" (that isn't actually a problem) is with Santander or the receiving bank, or somewhere in the middle in the FP system. But let's complain about Santander, it seems to be hip amongst some communities.

If you had searched on the Forum, you would have found many examples of exactly the same "PROBLEM"....oh and not only by Santander.

New Transfer I did yesterday morning from Santander was still not there by bedtime but on checking this morning was credited fine.

New transfer setups and/or small sum followed by big sum often take a while in my experience but should be ok. Patience. ;)

Small sum transfer quickly followed by a large sum is very likely to trigger potential fraud flags, as this a very common modus operandi of those who have illegally gained access to someone else's account.

As such it's very probable that the second, larger transfer will be held for manual checking before it is allowed to go through. This is good and normal and may someday save you from being robbed for a large sum, so I would hold your complaint for the mo!

Oh dear - what grumpy responses.

I thought my tongue in cheek manner was obvious.

    Clearly not ;)

A million apologies for being in a light hearted mood.

I shall ensure I only post when feeling like a miserable wotsit and will therefore be in good company :D

My point was one transer was instant.

Another approx 60 seconds later was not.

My previous experiences of transferring money between Natwest and Halifax has always been instant - regardless of the amount.

Hope you all continue to have a joyful day!!

    :)

    Thank you for that.

This was my 1st and 2nd transfers, so very helpful to know it can be that slow :D

In my experience, for perfectly justifiable reasons :D

    I did search.

    And found them.

Which is why I was jokingly asking if I could join the club.....
