My aims for today are to finish primering the utility, buy the required colour of paint, washing, ironing, do the filing, ring garage about OHs car, and the usual cookibg cleaning and minding LO...
Off for a lie-down at the thought of it, glad I'm off to work for a rest.

You mummy mummies, doing nothing all day, you've got it made :rotfl:.

Lol! Just think of all those lovely structured breaks
Actually LO is up for a wee nap (hes a cat napper so not for long!) and I am sat with a coffee and some oreos.... they were BOGOF so very MSE of me :rotfl:
Not doing too bad so far, washing is all done, ironing finished. Spreadsheets are fiddled with, and money shuffled. House is clean. Haven't got far on the utility room front but I'm limited by a lack of filler and no car to go get some as OH took mine to work... so next stop = walk to the shop and get ahead on the production of some sort of dinner.
Had a plan about LOs room (its full of build in furniture, far far too much built in furniture, but Ive noted that its perfectly sound and modular so going to get OH to remove some of it for me this weekend and reconfigure the wardrobes in a more workable fashion. What 8 month old boy needs *two* dressing tables / vanity mirrors in his room lol??MFW Sept 2013 Starting balance: £101160.59 25 years

Guys I need OP advice!
Its with regards to our nationwide mortgage - I think I might have confuddled myself a bit in the details.
It says OPs of over £500 will reduce the term.
OPs under £500 will come off the balance, and as interest is calculated daily it will affect that, but won't be reflected in the monthly payment or be used to reduce the term. At the next payment review (which I presume is at the end of the fix) they will then use it to recalculate the payments.
So is it a better idea to save up all the little bits and OP in £500 chunks, or send over little bits as and when online? Will they still make a difference?
At the end of my maternity I'm intending to send over the £500 as a min regularly, but its the little bits I'm confused about. I'd love to start 'tidying' some over that direction now...
Help!

i would give them a phone kola, they have always been great whenever i contact them. If you online bank with them there is a section where you can choose to have the term or payment down, look online for it. A word of warning - if you ever need to get your overpayments back then you are better not reducing the term as it leaves you less time to pay it than orginally agreed. We moved house and took all our overpayments back, instead of borrowing extra, but would have struggled to do it in the term if it had been shortened

So does that mean if you OP and reduce the term, the term wont go up again if you need the OPs back...?
Is the whole point of making an OP not to reduce the term though, and pay off the mortgage early?
I dont get how making OPs, however small (in the under £500 bracket) dont reduce the term in the long run because surely you're taking a bit off the capital and saving interest?
You might be right, it might be best to ring them...MFW Sept 2013 Starting balance: £101160.59 25 years

Had a nice little day today, LO dressed up as a pumpkin for halloween which was rather cute :j
Got the first coat of paint on the utility room
Picked up all my MrT direct stuff and must say I am rather pleased with my new soft furnishings, even if that is a little middle aged of me lol...
Also had some shopping to do in MrT (LO needed a new warmer coat, and new socks, and formula milk etc, trick or treat stuff etc - one of those shops!) and I had a £5 off when you spend £40 so ended up £45 lighter
Speaking of trick or treaters, some little kids just came to my door, saw my horrendous 70s bathroom while I was in the kitchen getting the sweets and they called out 'URGH - LOOK AT HER BATHROOM!'....That'll be next on the hit list, then... :rotfl:
TT of £3.36 and also the fiver I saved earlier - transferred to OP pot
Happy halloween all! xxMFW Sept 2013 Starting balance: £101160.59 25 years

In fact, screw it, I still don't quite understand but I've just transferred the tenner now in the OP pot straight to the mortgage rather than putting it in a savings pot lol... right thing to do?!MFW Sept 2013 Starting balance: £101160.59 25 years
