Thanks ladies- only 7 more days!! My overpayment should come out on Friday and then my normal payment will finish it off on Monday ::beer:

Little-Miss you should definitely do a list :D I love it. I need to have a good look at mine and start crossing some things off!

Not much to report. Need to go to the little family run supermarket to get some bits. Hubby is away from Thursday night till Sunday :(. Think I will use the time wisely and continue with decluttering .

The girls have tennis tomorrow which means I get to pick them up at 2.15pm. Will get a bit of time with them. On Friday ill get them at 1.30pm so I will do something nice with them like go to paint a pot.

I have ordered Wookey Hole tickets using Mr T vouchers so other than fuel that is a free day out and we have never taken the girls there. Also ordered big sheep vouchers as my mum is taking the girls there next Monday so this covers their cost.

My non MSE expense is getting a membership so I can swim at one of the nearby hotels again. I am tempted to start going to the gym but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough!!

    Morning all

I had such a rubbish night sleep. I felt so knackered when I got up at 6.30 and I needed to be out of the house at 6.55. Just about managed to get up and out the house. Didn't have breakfast or make lunch but I have an emergency soup and weetabix in my desk drawer.

    Plans for today;

Work hard as will be leaving work at 2pm
    Check banking
List bikes to sell one more time on FB
List 2 lots of bedding on FB
Dinner from stores- hickory smoked sausages from the butcher
Think of something to do when I get the kids- even if its just popping to mums with them
De-clutter an area from my list

On Saturday I de-cluttered my kitchen. Took everything out, cleaned the cupboards, sorted it and then arranged it all back in! All except the glasses cupboard which I should do to complete that room :)

6 more days until I am loan free :j x

    Hi Orangefairy,

Thought I would pop in and say hello. I've read through and love the idea of the list, I'm going to start my own. My grandson is called Oscar. My favourite books are the Enid Blyton Magic Faraway Tree and my favourite character is Silky the fairy.
I've subscribed, off to update my diary:D

  • I wish I could enjoy decluttering the way that some people do. I have spent 4 hours in at work today decluttering and still need to go back again before term starts.
Haven't even started on the house...

    Hi Diaryland!

Hi Julie- nice to see you over here.

Wannabee- I love decluttering! I find it very therapeutic!

My overpayment of £278 comes out today :j

    4 days until I'm loan free :j :j

Bella- good question! Well hubby has £500 left on his card from the holiday so he is using August and September to clear that. I will now concentrate on my next account and holiday debt.

Though on paper I should have money left in August I am not planning to as I want to do things with the kids and buy school uniform. Sept I will clear Next and close the account. This saves £35 a month. It is also DD2s birthday then. Then I will clear what I still owe for the holiday while hubby starts on his £1.7k card. Then we will both concentrate on the remaining big card! Nov/Dec will be hard due to Christmas!

Right today I need to spend a bit of money to buy my mum some flowers and for DD2 to go swimming.

Yesterday I spent £20 on a bouquet of flowers for SIL for having the kids. Sounds a lot but very justified when you consider she is having my DDs every Wednesday while I work so I don't have to pay £38 childcare! I also ordered the girls winter boots from Barratts as I had a code for 20% off, free delivery and 7% cash back. Still put me back £52 but they are needed!

Right I'm at work now so will be back on later

  • Hello OF,

I don't think I've posted on your diary before, but I have been reading. I am so excited about you paying your loan off - go you!!

Great news on the winter boots, I saw some on Clarks sale the other day, but just couldn't buy them last week as its been an expensive old time with DD's birthday etc. I am actually hoping my children fit into their boots from last year! Did your bikes sell? I really need to declutter, but I live with a hoarder DH who follows me around moaning about me throwing things out, he won't even let me throw my own things out!!!

Anyway, you're doing brilliantly - so pleased for you!
    MBNA = £4,000 / Next = £925 (approx. tbc on 19/8)
    Tesco = £2,910.11 / Smile overdraft = £500
    Bank of Scotland = £2,782.83

Hi SS - thank you for popping in!

I am so blooming excited about the loan going. I have finally got the £40 vouchers from a local raffles that I won 3 months ago. These are two £20 vouchers for different restaurants. One that is tapas and a place hubby and I love so we are gonig here with our voucher next week to celebrate the loan going :j The other voucher if for my favourite village pub/restaurant which we frequent quite regularly. My brother is a chef and my teenage sis and cousin work as waitresses and my SIL works there when she isn't on maternity leave. This £20 we will put towards a family meal with the kids as they love it there.

My bikes haven't sold on fb. I need to lower the price perhaps to £15 each just to get rid of them, if not i'll put them in the paper. I also have a wedding cake stand, a tv stand, bookcase, 2 brand new red single duvets in packaging and then a gorgeous single next duvet with curtains which are still perfect but used.

I feel like though I was only paid yesterday I have spent so much already.

    All bills paid
    £350 overpayments
    £56 for boots
£37.50 in flowers (sent some to Mum today. Now I feel I have said my thanks)
£20 pocket money I owe the kids

I need to sort out exactly what I have left.

    Pending things.......

    • I have promised the kids as Dad is away and I am constantly working that when I finish work tomorrow at 1pm I will take them to paint a pot. All three of us were going to do it but a friend said it cost £25 for her to let her two do it so I think i'll sit back and not paint one myslef.
    • Thinking about taking the kids to the Cinema on Saturday however I haven't 100% committed.
    • £30 to start up my swimming membership
    • Drinks with an old work colleague Saturday night - budgeting £10
    • Sunday is celebrating my friends 30th for a pub meal so I am looking at up to £20 there. She has banned us from buing her a present so that has kept the cost down even though I feel uncomfortable about it
    • I have order Mr T vouchers to go to Wookey Hole so this will still be a fuel expense.
    • Need to account for the fact our not using a supermarket challenge will mean more in grocery costs.
    • Uniform needs buying though I may leave this until hubby gets paid on the 25th August so it comes from September money.
    • Maybe book our key camp holiday for August next year which will require a £99 deposit
    • Other days out with the girls
    • If a deal comes up on an ipod touch 5th gen I may need to buy it early as we are getting it for DD2's birthday in September.

So all things to think about.

I am thinking if I can sell some items I can use that for entertainment for the kids for the rest of August. We will see how motivated I am over the weekend!

Hubby is now away....strangely our Tortoise Sherman stayed up later than normal as if he knew I needed company! :p He has gone to bed now....being the man of the house until Sunday evening is probably a lot of pressure on his shoulders/shell :rotfl:

    Off to bed!
