Morning OF your plans sound great :) your going to feel amazing once that loans paid off. I love your list too very inspirational. Hope you get your childcare sorted its so expensive and one of the reasons I only work part time at the weekends now, although I am off sick at the minute and only 5 weeks until I go on maternity leave :)

Hope you have a fab weekend xx

Thanks all. I really enjoyed doing my last list so I really wanted to start another.

I really tried to make it a mix of money things, tasks to improve family life, health advantages, some silly things, experiences, stuff to do around the house and to do things for others :D

I feel like having a decluttering and finding things to sell day.

Also been looking at Mr T vouchers to look at swapping them for days out tokens to keep our summer costs down. We are pretty good with geocaching, walks and going to the beach which don't cost us very much.

Will send off my cheque to the tennis camps so there is no going back! xx

    Hi diary peeps!

Had a lovely MSE weekend. Yesterday got on with housework and then had family film night with the kids to watch Jack the Giant Slayer so just a couple of pounds for some sweets.

Then today we watched our friend cross the line for his half marathon and then said friends Dad bought us all a drink. We went back to theirs for a BBQ. Then on to a second BBQ at MILs! So £4 on BBQ food and £2 on car parking. All in all a good day :)

I hope everyone has had a great weekend xx

I can't believe it is July already either!

Not much happening at the moment.

I have made a firm decision to leave my overpayment at £300! it may leave me a little short but it is just a challenge and perhaps the kick up the backside I need! So excited to see the drop in the loan balance!

I have also made progress with childcare for the hols. My mum is doing one of the Mondays I was stuck for. SIL has offered to have them every Wednesday, I have 2 of the Fridays off and hubby has the bank holiday week plus two Mondays. So I now only have one day to fill which I may be able to take as holiday or my cousin has offered o have them if I need her too. So 2 days ago I was expecting to spend another £100-£130 on top of the £112 I have given for tennis. Fingers crossed they get the tennis spaces!

So I feel this has been quite a saving!

NSD today. Jut worked, then watched dd2 in her recession performance and dd1 in her choir show which was all Grease songs which was fab.

Updated my debt figures need to add the holiday card costs when I find out what they are.

Off to have a cup of tea :)

Great news re the childcare. By juggling and lots of input from grandparents I am only having to pay for childcare for 6 days this holiday. Absolute result. Am very pleased! Just now need a blooming excel spreadsheet to keep track of it all:rotfl:

  • That's brilliant news with the childcare. It's so expensive isn't it? I am fortunate in teaching that I share a lot of my holidays with the kids - although sometimes I'm just as exhausted looking after them as I am in work but I save literally hundreds of pounds in childcare (then spend them entertaining the kids).

    Morning all

Yeah being able to sort child care cheaply is a godsend. I will have only spent £112 unless anything changes. Well done on sorting yours Brizzle. I have a spreadsheet showing everyone's holidays from work and family! Wannabee- I was tempted to look for a school job for those reasons. Not many out there though!

Just checked the bank and my £300 has come out. I feel both liberated and worried! I am sure it will be fine.

I am going to list some things to sell and see how that goes. Also clawing money from the budget. Realised I am actually a month ahead with putting £30 back for tv license and car tax. My birthdays will cost me £30 this money rather then my £40 budget so that is £10 saved!

Starting our sealed £2 jar challenge again. There was £60 in there and hubby found another. So £62 now! We are saving this for a holiday next year. As we are not going to Florida we are going to book a cheaper holiday nearer the time. We are thinking of driving over to France again- or maybe even a little further to Lake Garda and stay in a Keyc@mp resort which we have used before.

Long day at work today- 8 till 6.30. I have soooooo much to do though so it will fly by!

    MSE things for today

    Work hard
    Check budget
    Write out spends
    LSD- card for my cousin
Using up the freezer- pork in slow cooker with some wine sauce that has been in the freezer a while.
    Made bread in bm overnight.
List one or two things on FB selling pages.

Time to get off the bus!
