My first 2 projects by Alicatt2, on Flickr
My first two projects:D. Now I can start something a bit bigger.
nmm - BD is stunning. I can't wait to see it finished and also can't belive how much progress you've made in such a short time!
sweetcarer - your sampler and medal winning picture are both lovely.
Coffeeandstitches - your bear is very cute and your work look s fine to me. If you're fed up doing it, move on to something else and maybe in time you'll feel like coming back to it and finishing it off. It would be a shame to give up on it completely though.

Can anyone see the picture I posted? It's just a box with a red cross to me, but not sure what I've done wrong. I followed the instructions on the first page of the thread. Can anyone give me any pointers on how to fix.
Thanks

mrs-monneypenny, I've ordered thread and aida to start on the mini sampler pattern that came free with the last WOCS. Looks fairly strightforward but I don't want to over challenge myself too quickly in case I put myself off for good as I really enjoyed doing my small projects (both were magazine freebies).

Hi ladies.
Just realised I haven't posted in a week so apologies in advance if this turns out long.
FOS. Spring Queen is beautiful.
Coxy. Look forward to seeing update pic of Flower Shop, sounds like it's nearing completion?
MrsCeejay. Glad you had a nice holiday and got some stitching done, look forward to seeing a pic of your Dino progress.
Ems. Very nice Mario stitch!
Willow. Mouse is coming along nicely.
Sweetcarer. Nice update, it's coming along great. Well done on your competition wins at the weekend! :T
Nmm. Nice update on BD and thanks for unravelling him, forgotten how big he was going to be!
Coffee. Personally I would unpick the paws and re-stitch in 2 strands then complete the whole design in 2 strands. As you said, using only 1 strand shows alot of white fabric and like you, I wouldn't like it.
It's rare for me to stitch a design exactly as charted because I like it to look right to my eye so if you prefer the look of 2 strands then I say go for it, don't be afraid to adapt a chart/design to suit you.
Having said that if I wasn't enjoying it I would put it away and do something else. Like yourself, I don't like not finishing things so I would come back to it another time, that might be in a month or a few years but it would get finished sometime
You also mentioned about the stitches all laying/facing the same way. I too didn't know about this when I first started and as nmm said, there is no right or wrong way but it does give a much neater finish if you can have them all the same way.
Beware though, if you start stitching like this it can make you a little obsessive about making sure each stitch is the same.....or is that just me?
I was stitching a block of colour the other day and got distracted when the phone rang. As soon as I went back to my stitching I could see immediately that the last X I had done was wrong. I tried to leave it but couldn't, I had to unpick and re-stitch
EricsMum. Hope your Mum feels better soon.
As for me. Have started on snowmans scarf then just backstitching and beads to do. Not got the beads yet though, waiting till we next go near HC.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Sorry I didn't get on yesterday to show you my weekly update picture on my winter sampler but I had a very good reason.
Here is a picture of my rosettes (ribbons) and my medal.
