  • I've been stitching nonstop for the last couple of days, and it seems i've made no progress whatsoever :( . This one is going to take me ages. There's nine pages of it, then the backstitch, and i haven't even done page one. I know it'll be worth it in the end (it's the bothy cut through pirate ship for my older brother who is a pirate) but it's going to be hard work.

On the bright side once i have finished it i have a very special one to do for my mum (photo stitch of her parents) and then i can finally start doing a piece for myself. I have three kits in storage (a gorjuss one, a vintage one and a christmas cupcakes one) plus the threads i need to do the massive sewing room one that was in one of the crossstitch mags a while back. Should take me till at least the end of next year!

What I really need are some projects with no back stitch. Any suggestions from you wonderful people?

    xx
Any HAED clicky I don't think they have backstitch. Tell us a theme and we'll see what we can find :)

    Hi,
    Ayeshalush,
What a cute little penguin and pretty rose, have you decided what the next project is going to be?[\QUOTE]

Thanks Mrs ceejay. My next project is going to be the mini sampler pattern that came free with last month's WOCS. I would post a pic but not sure if I'm allowed. I know I can't post a pic of the pattern but is the completed pic on the front of the pattern allowed? Will just have to hurry up and complete it and then I can post a pic of my work lol.

My aida and some of my threads arrived today so I'm just going to see if i can make a start without the other threads.

    Hi,
    Coffeeandstitches
Not very good at technical stuff, camera is temperamental at best, but I will try,not sure what to use, some of you use flicker and others use photo bucket is that correct.
    Help which is best!

Flickr is very easy if you follow the steps in the first post on this thread, and don't add in extra steps like I did:o.

I have Friday off as me time and need to decide whether I spring clean my junk room or sit on my sofa all day and stitch?

Would not be a dilemma for me lol, housework is ALWAYs second choice to ANYTHING else.

I had a look at this page and thought the dragon looked really nice. Then when I downloaded it, it said that the chart contains 89 colours! Think I'll have to leave that one until I retire, which won't be for a good few years yet ;-)
  • coffeeandstitches and hippipal have you tried google imaging something that you would like that is free? Thats how i found the mario one i've just done, which was just straight cross stitch.
  • Hi,
    Hippipal.
I had a look at that site and like you,saw one I liked, the Christmas animals, but after looking at about 100 odd colours decide to leave it!!
I'am retired and still won't be doing that one!

    Morning everyone,

Sorry I've not posted for a few days - been working boo!

Sweetcarer - well done on your prizes. I was very moved to hear the back story to the flower panel xx

CoffeeandStitches - I have put projects to one side before - flower shop being the main one! - but better to spend your time stitching something fresh and new and go back to teddy later on.

Ayeshalush - loving your work x

Laptop was poorly last week and now it won't let me upload docs into photobucket grrrr. Will keep trying as I've made some real progress on the flower shop - hoping to have it done by Christmas :rotfl:

Out with DM today to celebrate as it was my birthday on Tuesday. We will have tea and cake nomnomnom

  • Morning Lovelies!!

Erich - NO CONTEST!! Stitch. And think of us stuck in the office :)

Ems - That Mario stitch is awesome! I've got a gaming nephew who would love it!!

HAED - Wow. Really wow. Huge masses of big wow. Stunning. So I've had a look through, and there are some designs that have completely bowled me over! They are stunning!! But I can't help but think it might be a bit adventurous for me to try? Have any of you done any? They are HUGE!!!! How long did they take?

I'm seriously considering it. There are a few designs on there that have just moved me. I need your stories and advices though before I make the huge jump into it :)
